The Winner in each "RealTime Fantasy Baseball Championship" league shall receive a prize of $800. In addition to league prizes, all teams shall compete for overall RTFBC prizes:
Prizes will be awarded to one individual per team. All prizes are non-transferable. The overall RTFBC tournament winner will be determined by the team scoring the most overall rotisserie points. All stat categories will get scored across all teams in all RTFBC leagues and rotisserie points calculated for each category to determine the total rotisserie points. The team scoring the second most points for the season shall be declared 2nd place in the overall RTFBC tournament and so on. Should two or more teams be tied for any place with the same number of points for the fantasy season, highest team batting average will serve as the tie-breaker. If two teams are still tied after the tie-breaker they will split the prize for that place.
The Commissioner
RealTime Fantasy Sports will serve as the commissioner for RealTime Fantasy Baseball Championship (RTFBC) leagues and will be responsible for resolving any disputes that arise, such as rules violations or any other matters that may come up in connection with the Contest. All commissioner decisions by RealTime Fantasy Sports are final. Draft
After the required 10th team has joined your RTFBC league, the league will be locked in and the draft order will be randomly generated. The draft order is a random order of all teams that have joined the league and is not determined by when teams join the league. Once the draft order is set all teams will be notified via email the league is locked in and the draft order has been generated. If your league does not have the required 10 teams, the league will be disbanded prior to the scheduled draft date and time. If your league is disbanded you will be able to join another league. RealTime Fantasy Sports reserves the right to move the scheduled draft time back up to 1 hour to give the league sufficient time to fill with the required 10 teams. The draft will be an S-style draft with the team picking last in the first round picking first in the second round and so on. For example,
During the draft each team will have 90 seconds per pick to draft a player. There will be 28 rounds to your draft. If you leave the draft room before completion of all your picks, the system will automatically pick players to complete your roster. Teams
Player Pools All RTFBC leagues will use both American League and National League players in their player pool. Position Eligibility Prior to the draft, all players eligible to be drafted will be identified in the official player eligibility list identifying each players' qualifying positions as of the start of the season. The position eligibility on that list will be based on the following criteria and is considered final:
Roster Composition Each team will consist of a roster of 28 players. Team owners are free to choose the player position mix of the players on their roster. There are no restrictions on the number of players at any position that may be on a team's roster. Owners are not required to have a minimum number of players at any position on their roster. For example an owner could choose not to have a third baseman on their roster. Weekly Lineups The Contest uses a two (2) starting lineups for each team per week. The first lineup of each week will be from Monday through Thursday. The second lineup of each week will run from Friday through Sunday. Team owners may start or bench a player for a lineup period up until the beginning of the first game for that player that week. After the first game of the lineup period for a player, the player is locked and can not be started or benched. Lineup changes are allowed one week in advance. Each team's starting lineup will consist of a maximum of:
Free Agents
Waiver Wire Free agents will be awarded using a blind bidding system. Each team will receive 2500 blind bidding "dollars" for use in bidding on free agents. Once a team has exhausted their blind bidding dollars they will not be able to acquire additional free agents. Player bid must be submitted by 7:00pm Eastern Sunday of each week of the season for award between 7:00pm and 11:59pm Eastern. Each RTFBC league drafting prior to Tuesday, April 3, 2012 will have a preseason waiver wire with the deadline for player requests on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 7:00 pm ET. Any RTFBC league drafting on Tuesday, April 3 will NOT have a preseason waiver wire. Only players listed as active by our statistics provider or previously active and now on the DL will be available as free agents. Protected Free Agents In a further effort to prevent collusion or unfair competition, if players drafted in the first 5 rounds of the league's draft are released they will become unavailable free agents for the duration of the season. Team owners will be allowed to replace those players, but team owners will not be allowed to acquire the dropped players as free agents. RealTime Fantasy Sports reserves the right to add any player to the list of players that will become unavailable free agents for the duraton of the season for any reason. Additionally, any players dropped for play in the final 4 weeks of the season will become protected free agents for the duration of the season. Team owners will still be allowed to drop and replace players, but team owners will not be allowed to acquire any of these dropped players as free agents. Season
The season for all RTFBC leagues will begin with the games on April 4, 2012. The season will end for all leagues on October 3, 2012. In all leagues no statistics from the Japan Opening Series 2012 games (SEA vs OAK, Mar. 28-29, 2012) shall be used. In all leagues no statistics from any exhibition game, such as the MLB All-Star game, shall be used. No statistics from any playoff game, such as one-game end of the season tie breaker games, shall be used. Scoring System
Rotisserie Style Rules Points are awarded to each team according to the team's order of finish in each of 5 hitting and 5 pitching statistical categories (5x5 Rotisserie). You team's total score for the season is a combination of points your team has been awarded in each statistical category. The top team in a statistical category will receive 10 points, the second place team will receive 9 points, down the line with the last place team in a statistical category receiving 1 point. If two or more teams tie for a position in any statistical category each team will receive the average number of points for tied positions. For instance, if two teams tie for second and third place in a statistical category each of the tied teams will receive (9 + 8) / 2 = 8.5 points for that category. Players statistics shall be statistics accumulated at the major league level. For players in NL-only or AL-only leagues, if a player is traded or otherwise acquired by a team in the other league, you will continue to accumulate statistics for that player so long as they remain on your roster. If that player is dropped from your roster that player will no longer be available in that league. For example, if you are in an AL-only league and Cliff Lee is on your roster when traded from Cleveland to Philadelphia mid-season you would continue to accumulated statistics for Lee so long as you do not drop him, even though he is pitching in the NL. The statistical categories are listed below: Hitting:
Pitching:
The statistical categories are defined as: Team Batting Average (BA) - Computed using the combined at-bats and hits of all hitters in the starting lineup of your team. This not an average of the BAs of the players on your team. Batting average is calculated as hits divided by at-bats. Reaching base by error or fielder's choice is not considered a hit. Reaching base by a sacrifice, walk or hit by pitch is not counted as a hit or an at-bat. If a player hits safely but is out trying to get an extra base on the same play, it is still considered a hit. Runs Batted In (RBI) - Cumulative total of runs batted in for all hitters in the starting lineup of your team. A player is credited with an RBI when the outcome of his at-bat results in a run being scored, except in certain situations such as when an error is made on the play or a forced double play is turned. Home Runs (HR) - Cumulative total of home runs hit by all hitters in the starting lineup of your team. Stolen Bases (SB) - Cumulative total of bases stolen by all hitters in the starting lineup of your team. Runs Scored (R) - Cumulative total of all runs scored hit by all hitters in the starting lineup of your team. Team Earned Run Average (ERA) - Computed using the combined innings pitched and earned runs allowed by all pitchers in the starting lineup of your team. This is not an average of the ERAs of the pitchers on your team. It is determined by dividing the number of earned runs allowed by the number of innings pitched and multiplying by nine. Runs resulting from batters who reach base on an error (even a pitcher error) and later score are called unearned runs, and do not count toward ERA. Wins (W) - Cumulative total of wins by all pitchers in the starting lineup of your team. In each game, one pitcher on the winning team is awarded a win as the pitcher of record. Only one pitcher for each game receives a win. Wins are awarded by the official scorer of the game in accordance with MLB rules. Saves (S) - Cumulative total of saves by all pitchers in the starting lineup of your team. A save is credited to a pitcher who finishes a game for the winning team under certain prescribed circumstances. Only one pitcher for each game receives a save. Saves are awarded by the official scorer of the game in accordance with MLB rules. Strikeouts (K) - Cumulative total of strikeouts by all pitchers in the starting lineup of your team. Team WHIP (WHIP) - Computed using the combined innings pitched, hits allowed, and walks by all pitchers in the starting lineup of your team. This is not an average of the WHIPs of the pitchers on your team. WHIP is calculated by adding the number of walks and hits allowed and dividing this sum by the number of innings pitched.
Each fantasy team's pitching staff must accumulate a minimum of 900 innings pitched for the season. If a league began play after the first week of the MLB season, the required minimum innings pitched will be pro-rated based on a 27 week MLB season. Any team with less than the required minimum innings pitched shall automatically be placed last in the Team ERA and Team WHIP scoring categories and the other teams will move up in those categories. Should two or more teams have less than the required minimum innings pitched the team with the fewest innings pitched shall be placed last in Team ERA and Team WHIP categories, with the team pitching the next fewest innings being placed in second to last, and so on with each team receiving the points designated for that scoring position. "Draft Masters Fantasy Baseball" league teams will have a minimum of 400 innings pitched. Fantasy team standings shall be based on total points scored of each fantasy team. The team with the most points accumulated from the 5 hitting and 5 pitching categories shall be in first place in the league. The team scoring the fewest points will be in last place in the league. Statistics for regular season games that are rained out or otherwise postponed will be applied to the week in which the game is played. The statistics for postponed games will NOT be applied to the week the game was originally scheduled. If a postponed game is not made up, no statistics for that game will be accumulated. At the conclusion of the season the team scoring the most points for the season shall be declared the league champion. The team scoring the second most points for the season shall be declared 2nd place in the league. Should two or more teams be tied for the top position with the same number of points for the fantasy season, the team with highest team batting average for the season shall be declared the league champion. The team having the second highest team batting average shall then be declared the second place team in the league. Should two more teams tie for 2nd place in a league, the team with the highest team batting average for the season shall be declared the 2nd place team in the league. Statistics Reporting Scores and stats are updated immediately as they are received from our statistics provider. Some events beyond RTFS' control can make this time longer. Thus, RealTime Fantasy Sports is not responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of the statistics. Because the statistics are updated "live," some errors may occur. If so, statistical errors are usually corrected by our stats provider during the course of the day, but may take up to 24 hours to be corrected. If an error occurs and is not corrected by our provider, RTFS will correct the stat ourselves, but only if it is overwhelmingly obvious that the stat is in error. If there is any doubt to the validity of the stat, RTFS will maintain the statistic given by its provider. All stats for a given game are deemed final at noon Eastern seven (7) days following the day of completion of the game. Even if MLB changes a stat several weeks later, it will not be changed by RTFS. Nonetheless, RTFS still reserves the right to change any stat at any time for any unforeseen reason. RealTime Fantasy Sports is not responsible for any inaccuracies, representations, statements, graphics or content of materials that are uploaded onto its servers and website from other vendors, including but not limited to the Major League Baseball, SportsDirect, Inc., and users, members, subscribers, customers or participants. Prize Notification
Prize Winners will be notified by email within 30 days after the official final results (and associated winners) are validated at the conclusion of the Contest. Prize Winners are also posted on the Contest web site. The conclusion of the Contest is defined as noon Eastern time on the Friday following the last day of competion in the league. After the conclusion of the Contest all prize awards will be placed in the winner's RealTime Fantasy Sports account. Prize Winners may use the balance in their accounts to purchase additional RealTime Fantasy Sports games or they may request a prize distribution check, payable in US Dollars. Prize Winners must complete an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release (unless prohibited by law) to receive a prize check. In order to comply with United States tax law, for prize distributions of $600 USD or more during any calendar year the affidavit of eligibility must contain the Prize Winner's tax payer identification number. Failure to comply with these requirements can result in non-payment. Prize Winners are not required to spend the balance in their account nor are they required to receive a prize distribution check. Account balances do not expire and may be spent on RealTime Fantasy Sports games at anytime in the future. By accepting any prize, the winners grant permission to RealTime Fantasy Sports to use their names and/or likenesses for publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law, and agree to execute a written consent. In the event of dispute about the identity of any entrant, entries made online are declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. A potential winner can be required to provide the sponsors with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry. Sportsmanship and Decency
Sportsmanship By registering, you agree to abide by the general sportsmanship rules set forth in these rules and fantasy games in general. You further agree to accept and abide by the rulings and the decisions of RealTime Fantasy Sports regarding all questions of sportsmanship. Sportsmanship broadly includes actions such as abusive postings and communication, colluding with other teams in the league, deliberately choosing to start incomplete or weak lineups, free agent moves for reasons other than improvement of the owner's fantasy team, and any other actions not conducive to decent, fair, and honest play. If an owner refuses to comply with the sportsmanship rules, or that an owner has acted in an unsportsmanlike manner, RealTime Fantasy Sports reserves the right to disqualify the owner and/or remove that owner from the league without a refund. All decisions by RealTime Fantasy Sports will be final. Inappropriate, Offensive, or Commercial Communication The league message boards, league news and league email are provided to facilitate communication with other league owners and enhance the enjoyment of your league. RealTime Fantasy Sports does not permit posting or sending messages or images, to include logos, avatars and team names that could be construed as offensive to other owners. Inappropriate communication can also include spamming team owners with commercial offers and/or posting commercial messages on the league message board. Team owners who violate these guidelines are subject to being restricted from posting in the league. Additionally, RealTime Fantasy Sports reserves the right to disqualify the owner and/or remove that owner from the league without a refund. All decisions by RealTime Fantasy Sports will be final. All participants are required to abide by the RealTime Fantasy Sports, Inc. (RTFS) Official Policies. Appeals
Accidental Drops Should a team accidentally drop a player or drop the incorrect player during a free agent transaction, the team may appeal to have the player reinstated to their team. The appeal for reinstatement must occur immediately, without exception. If the appeal is not submitted immediately, for any reason, the appeal will be denied. Submission of an appeal does not guarantee a ruling in favor of the team submitting the appeal. If the team owner is a repeat offender, deemed to be using the appeal to gain advantage, or the appeal is not submitted immediately, the appeal will be denied. RTFS reserves the right to deny any appeal. Trades In leagues that allow trading owners may request a review of complete trades. Trade appeals must be submitted immediately after the end of the league voting period for a trade. If any delay in submission occurs, for any reason, the appeal will be denied. Upon submission of an appeal, the trade will be reviewed by a panel of fantasy football experts. Current injuries, bye weeks, season to date performance and other factors will be considered. Trades that are overwhelmingly one-sided will be reversed. Trades that are arguably beneficial to both sides or arguably not overwhelmingly one-sided will be allowed to stand. It is the responsibility of teams within a league to veto a trade if they believe it to be one-sided. Submission of an appeal does not guarantee a trade will be reversed. RTFS reserves the right to reverse any trade or let any trade stand. Teams may not appeal the veto of a trade. If team owners in a league veto a trade, for any reason, that veto shall stand. All appeal decisions by RealTime Fantasy Sports are final.
