Erasmo Ramirez May 30 7:30am ET

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Erasmo Ramirez allowed four runs on six hits in 2 1/3 innings on Monday, a day after he earned a save. Ramirez allowed one walk and struck out one batter, throwing 43 pitches on Monday after throwing 12 on Sunday. This poor start comes after Ramirez had allowed four runs in 11 1/3 innings in his last two starts since taking over for Blake Snell in the rotation. There was fear that top prospect Jose De Leon would pressure Ramirez for a rotation spot, as he earned the win yesterday, but De Leon was sent back down to the minors after Monday's game.   Ramirez is scheduled to pitch June 4th in Seattle against the Mariners.

Byron Buxton May 30 7:10am ET

Byron Buxton was forced to leave Monday's game early after he caught his finger on teammate Eddie Rosario's spike while sliding past a ball in the outfield. The good news is the injury is not considered serious, so fantasy owners can expect Buxton to be back on the field in a day or two. Buxton had gone 0-for-2 at the plate with two strikeouts before leaving the game. He has struggled at the plate this season, batting just .188, but his gold glove caliber play in center field has kept him locked into Minnesota's starting lineup. Stay tuned for updates on Buxton's finger as the Twins get set to do battle with the Astros again today.

Hector Santiago May 30 7:10am ET

Hector Santiago was a surprise participant in the Minnesota Twins' 15-inning marathon game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday. With the game going extra innings, the Twins were forced to use Santiago in desperation after running out of available relievers. Just two days after his Friday start, Santiago pitched one inning on Sunday, allowing two runs and taking the loss. Despite the extra work, Twins manager Paul Molitor stated on Monday that he expects Santiago to make his scheduled start on Wednesday against the Houston Astros. It would be advisable to avoid using Santiago if you can help it as the Astros are a tough opponent and Santiago is not in his normal routine.

Eric Skoglund May 30 5:03am ET

Kansas City Royals LHP Eric Skoglund is scheduled to be the starting pitcher against the Detroit Tigers Tuesday, May 30.

Nick Markakis May 30 4:40am ET

Nick Markakis was held to a rare hitless performance in Monday's win over the Angels. Markakis, who has been a reliable on-base presence, carried a six-game hit streak into the new series. Although his average dipped from .310 to .295 over the course of May, his overall production has remained steady. He remains a staple within the inconsistent offense as he places in the team's top three for runs, hits, doubles, triples, RBI, and walks. Markakis should have a strong chance to regain his form at the plate as Parker Bridwell makes his first career start for the Angels this evening.

Julio Teheran May 30 4:30am ET

Julio Teheran delivered another strong performance away from Sun Trust Park as the Braves came away with a win in Los Angeles. Teheran pitched into the seventh inning despite early struggles. Yesterday's win extended his road winning streak to three games. He continues to be challenged with home run swings, though he escaped with three solo shots on Monday. Atlanta's expected ace has struggled for much of the season, but he's been surprisingly efficient away from home. Tied fourth for the most home runs allowed in the National League, he remains on pace for a career high allowed.

Brandon Phillips May 30 4:20am ET

Brandon Phillips is expected back into the Braves' order after missing Monday's game in Los Angeles. He will be limited to a designated hitter role as he continues to rehab his knee after fouling off a pitch over the weekend. Phillips has been a strong contributor towards the top of the lineup with a .301 average through the first two months of the season. Recording a hit in 11 of the past 13 games, his consistent swings make him a valuable contributor. The veteran should have the upper hand in his return as Parker Bridwell makes his first career start for the Angels.

Adam Wilk May 30 3:13am ET

Minnesota Twins LHP Adam Wilk accepted an outright assignment to Class AAA Rochester on Monday, May 29.

Miguel Socolovich May 30 2:53am ET

St. Louis Cardinals RHP Miguel Socolovich was sent outright to Class AAA Memphis on Monday, May 29.

Drew Rucinski May 30 2:43am ET

The Minnesota Twins optioned SP Drew Rucinski to Class AAA Rochester on Tuesday, May 30.

Mike Trout May 29 11:53pm ET

Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (thumb) will undergo surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb Wednesday, May 31. He will be out six to eight weeks.

Eduardo Nunez May 29 11:53pm ET

Updating a previous report, San Francisco Giants 3B Eduardo Nunez (head) is having vision issues. He feels better than he did when first sustaining the injury Sunday, May 28, but is still not completely over it. Nunez hopes to avoid the seven-day concussion disabled list.

Aaron Altherr May 29 11:50pm ET

Even with the return of Howie Kendrick, Aaron Altherr remains in the Philadelphia lineup, as his play during the veteran's absence has commanded more playing time. Tonight, with the Phillies well on their way to their 32nd loss of the year, the 26-year-old delivered one of just four hits on the night for his team, It was a sixth inning RBI single which gave Philadelphia their only run of the game. For the season, Altherr is now hitting .303 with eight home runs and 27 RBI, which ranks second on the team only behind Maikel Franco.

Jeremy Hellickson May 29 11:40pm ET

Making his sixth and final start of the month, Jeremy Hellickson failed to put a positive spin on what has been an abysmal May for the 30-year-old. The right-hander allowed four runs on six hits in six innings of work, walking two, hitting a batter and striking out two. It was only just the third time he allowed more than three runs in a start this season, but all three have come in this month, contributing to his 7.04 ERA for May. With his team failing to get any consistent action going at the plate, the four runs proved decisive, as his record fell to 5-3 while his ERA jumped up to 4.45 on the year.

Cody Allen May 29 11:00pm ET

Cleveland Indians closer Cody Allen survived a rough inning to collect his 14th save of the year. Allen allowed a run on three hits and struck out two. Allen has hit a bit of a rough patch lately, but even in a rough patch, he's been a great closer. He was likely a value pick in preseason drafts, but is performing like one of the first relievers selected.

Andrew Miller May 29 11:00pm ET

Cleveland Indians relief pitcher Andrew Miller picked up his 12th hold of the season on Monday, striking out all three batters he faced. Miller's ERA is now a ridiculous 0.35. He's a top-three reliever in baseball and holds mixed league value despite not working in a closer role.

Drew Robinson May 29 10:43pm ET

Texas Rangers INF Drew Robinson was optioned to Class AAA Round Rock Monday, May 29.

Jordan Jankowski May 29 10:43pm ET

Houston Astros RHP Jordan Jankowski was optioned to Class AAA Fresno Monday, May 29.

Byron Buxton May 29 10:33pm ET

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton's (finger) X-rays on his injured finger came back negative. Buxton thinks he can be back in the lineup as early as the team's next game Tuesday, May 30.

Brandon Phillips May 29 10:33pm ET

Atlanta Braves 2B Brandon Phillips (knee) will return to the lineup and serve as the designated hitter Tuesday, May 30, if his knee progresses. He's also available to pinch hit in the team's game Monday, May 29, if needed.
