A nagging ankle injury slowed Shockey much of the season. He only missed a game, but wasn't himself for about half the season because of the injury, which hurt his production. Shockey did have 66 receptions and seven touchdowns, but his 623-receiving yards was the second lowest total of his career. Shockey is a big, athletic tight end with surprising speed. The Giants like to throw the ball, and Shockey might be Eli Manning's favorite target. The key for Shockey, though, will be if Manning progresses. If he continues to have his up and down games, Shockey's numbers could suffer a bit.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Shockey is a top-five tight end. He has great TD potential and his yardage numbers can rebound with more consistency from Manning. He has as much upside as any tight end in the game.

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the New Orleans Saints earlier this week offered their second-round pick in the NFL Draft as well as either a sixth-round in 2008 or a fifth-round pick in 2009 to the New York Giants in exchange for TE Jeremy Shockey. Despite contrary reports, the deal has been on the table for quite some time and currently remains available. The Giants wanted a second-round pick as well as SS Roman Harper but the Saints were reluctant to make that move. Shockey has told several friends that he would like to join the Saints and is hoping the deal would get done prior to the draft.
