Impending free-agent LB Scott Fujita (neck) (Browns) wasn't prepared Wednesday, Jan. 30, to say his career is over after 11 seasons. Fujita has been diagnosed with a narrowing of the spinal column and suffered nerve damage in his neck in October. 'I'm not rushing into anything, but I think we all know I've had one neck surgery (13 years ago) and I'm potentially facing another one if things don't calm down in the next year or so,' Fujita said.

Cleveland Browns LB Scott Fujita came out of the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal in good shape, as he was fully exonerated Tuesday, Dec. 11. Former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue made his decision on the fines and suspensions, and found Fujita did not engage in 'conduct detrimental to the league.' Tagliabue's findings were that Fujita did not offer money for injuries or interfere with the league investigation. 'I find the NFL's contentions lacking in merit,' Tagliabue wrote.

Former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue has postponed the appeals hearings for New Orleans Saints DE Will Smith and LB Jonathan Vilma, Cleveland Browns LB Scott Fujita and free-agent DE Anthony Hargrove (Packers). The hearings were scheduled to occur Tuesday, Oct. 30, with Tagliabue in charge of the hearings but no reason was given for the postponement.

Cleveland Browns LB Scott Fujita (neck, shoulder) said he is not ready to decide on his future yet because he recently received the news that he will be going on Injured Reserve. 'I'm still digesting the news of being put on IR and the injury and everything else, so it's a little too early to rush into a decision like that. I need time, I need to breath a little bit, get back with my family and keep all options open with my doctors in time,' Fujita said.

Doctors have advised Fujita he could suffer life-altering consequences if he continues playing and the neck problems remain. Fujita has been dealing with neck stingers recently and had a history of neck issues.
