SUMMARY
Tight End Rank: #1 Overall: #27
Gates kept his status as the top tight end in the league with another solid season. His numbers weren't as prolific as previous seasons, but still very good, finishing just shy of 1,000 yards while catching 71 passes and scoring nine touchdowns. In his last three seasons, Gates averaged 80 receptions for 996 yards and 11 touchdowns ? those numbers are pretty tough to beat. Gates is just a monster to cover. He is a big target with good speed and quick feet. And he not only is the best red-zone target for the Chargers, but the best option in the passing game. The Chargers passing game should be more consistent with Philip Rivers in his second season, meaning Gates' production could go up.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Gates is the best tight end in the game and won't last past the third round. Getting a tight end that can produce like a No. 1 receiver is a huge plus for fantasy owners.
