SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #17 Overall: #91
Rivers actually saw his numbers decline in his second season as full-time starter. But he finished strong with good showings in the playoffs and at the end of the season. Rivers actually played in the AFC Championship game with a torn ACL. He had surgery after the season, but projects to be ready for camp. His knee could be an issue for next season, though. Rivers could be slowed early on because of the injury. Rivers is a hot and cold quarterback ? you just never know what you are going to get with him. He is an accurate passer with a strong arm. He doesn't have great foot speed, but moves around the pocket well and can make plays on the move. The Chargers offense remains one of the best, which is a positive for Rivers.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Rivers has a lot of potential, but is a bit too streaky to be a legit No. 1 fantasy quarterback. He is worth taking a risk on because of his upside, but expect more of the same from him. He'll have some great games with some stinkers sprinkled in as well.

The Associated Press reports San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers (knee) said he is fully recovered from the torn anterior cruciate ligament that required surgery. Rivers said, "I've been going full-go now for over a month. There's nothing I can't do. There are times throughout the day I can't tell which knee I hurt."
Mike Sullivan, of the North County Times, reports San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers (knee) is just four-plus months removed from surgery to repair his torn ACL but has been running at full-speed for a month. He has been taking regular doses of snaps with the first-string offense during workouts at the team's offseason coaching sessions. While he is wearing a brace and is a bit more conscious of the injury, Rivers said there are times he forgets anything is wrong. Rivers is ahead of schedule with the recovery but the team is not going to do anything with him that could result in a setback.
