SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #53
Overall: #287

Anderson had a chance to start for the Cardinals last season, but failed to hold onto that gig and even had a post-game tirade that got a lot of air time. Needless to say, it was not a good season for Anderson last year. He had more interceptions (10) than touchdowns (7) and completed just 52 percent of his passes. He once again struggled with accuracy and decision making. This might have been his last chance to start in the NFL. For his career, Anderson completes just 53 percent of his passes and has 53-touchdown passes to 55 interceptions. He had one big season in the league but done next to nothing besides that. He'll challenge for the backup job in Carolina this season.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Anderson has big-game potential because he takes chances and has a big arm, but you never know when those games will come. He is too hit or miss for fantasy teams even if he happens to get some starts this season.
Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said the team will have two quarterbacks active for Week 1 but would not say if QB Derek Anderson or QB Jimmy Clausen will be the second quarterback.
Fantasy Impact: We would expect Anderson to be the No. 2 at this point.

Carolina Panthers QB Jimmy Clausen appears to have been surpassed on the depth chart by QB Derek Anderson. Anderson is likely the team's No. 2 quarterback at this point behind QB Cam Newton.
Fantasy Impact: Clausen has stumbled of late and is moving the wrong way on the depth chart.

Fantasy Impact: Anderson likely will compete for the No. 2 job behind rookie Cam Newton. Not much value here at all - stay away.
