SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #44
Overall: #251

Whitehurst didn't exactly provide the competition at quarterback the Seahawks hoped, but his performance the last week of the season gave the Seahawks hope Whitehurst could be their starter of the future. Whitehurst got a little work throughout the season and struggled most weeks, but with a playoff berth on the line Week 17, he came through against the Rams. He was 22-of-36 for 192 yards and a touchdown while adding 30-rushing yards. In six games, Whitehurst had two touchdowns to three interceptions and completed 58 percent of his passes. Besides that last game, Whitehurst struggled reading defenses and making the proper throw on time. He has work to do to be a starter in the NFL. Whitehurst brings some good things to the table, though. He has a strong arm, can make all the throws and will make plays on the run. He still has a slow delivery, though, and needs a lot of seasoning. He'll compete this season with Tarvaris Jackson for the starting job.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Whitehurst still has time to become a starter in this league. He has some upside because he can make plays with his legs and likes to push the ball downfield. But until he shows some consistency in a starting role, don't bother with him on your fantasy team. He doesn't have enough upside to be worth drafting.
The Seattle Seahawks likely will not re-sign impending free-agent QB Charlie Whitehurst this offseason.
Fantasy Impact: Not a surprise. He showed very little with his chances.

Seattle Seahawks QB Charlie Whitehurst started in the team's Week 8 game.
Fantasy Impact: He didn't last long. As long as Jackson is healthy, he is their starter. We still aren't sure why Whitehurst started if Jackson was healthy enough to play.

Seattle Seahawks QB Charlie Whitehurst took a majority of the snaps with the first-team offense during practice Thursday, Oct. 27.
Fantasy Impact: Whitehurst is looking like he might get another start Week 8. We'll know more on Tarvaris Jackson after the Friday practice.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday, Oct. 26, that the decision on the starting quarterback between QBs Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) and Charlie Whitehurst might be a game-time decision. 'We just need to steal as much time as we can before we extend him, so that's how we'll go about it,' Carroll said. '(Jackson) will be ready to go in terms of playing the mental side of it by the end of this week. We just need to see physically if he can handle it.'
Fantasy Impact: The Seahawks will do all they can to get Jackson on the field.

Fantasy Impact: The Seahawks will do all they can to get Jackson back in the lineup this week.

Seattle Seahawks QB Charlie Whitehurst went 12-for-30 for 97 yards and one interception against the Cleveland Browns in Week 7.
Fantasy Impact: A terrible showing for Whitehurst. Tarvaris Jackson is the starter as long as he is healthy.

Seattle Seahawks QB Charlie Whitehurst said he believes he had a good week of practice and is confident he would play well in Week 7 if he starts in place of injured QB Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral).
Fantasy Impact: Whitehurst is expected to get the start this week for the Seahawks but isn't much of a fantasy option.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said QB Charlie Whitehurst will take all of the snaps with the first-team offense during practice Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Fantasy Impact: Whitehurst should get the start this week. Tarvaris Jackson is hurting and not expected to play.

Seattle Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson's (pectoral) status for Week 7 is still in doubt after he suffered a high grade strain of his right pectoral muscle in Week 5. If he can't go, QB Charlie Whitehurst will start.

Seattle Seahawks QB Charlie Whitehurst was working with the first-team offense in practice Tuesday, Oct. 11, and he'll do so throughout the bye week practices. There is no guarantee QB Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) will be ready in Week 7 after the bye, so Whitehurst might get a start.
