Summary

Running Back Rank: #163All Players: #679
Harrison had 14 carries with the Lions before they tried to trade him. Fortunately for him, during the physical to complete the trade doctors found a brain tumor. If that doesn't happen, who knows what happens to Harrison? The prognosis for his long-term health and to resume his career is positive, though. He could play again in 2012. Harrison had a breakout year in 2009, topping 1,000 total yards for the first time in his career. But he has fewer than 400-rushing yards in all his other seasons. Harrison isn't the biggest back, but is a solid playmaker with some big-play ability. He has quick feet, decent speed and above-average hands. As long as he is healthy, he'll battle for a backup job in 2012.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
The big thing for Harrison is to see him healthy. We hope he can make a full recovery and resume his playing career. He isn't worth a draft pick but is worth monitoring if he makes an NFL roster. He has a little total yardage potential when all is going well for him.

comments about Jerome Harrison

Notes

Cleveland Browns WR Joshua Cribbs, who is close friends with Detroit Lions RB Jerome Harrison (brain), said Harrison's recovery from a brain tumor is not going so well. 'I still go over to his house every now and then and talk to him. He's doing pretty bad. He's in and out of the hospital with seizures. They just don't want the same thing to happen to me,' Cribbs said.

The Detroit Lions placed RB Jerome Harrison (head) on the reserve/non-football illness list Tuesday, May 15, ending his 2012 season. Harrison is progressing after having a brain tumor removed.

The Detroit Lions need to address their running back position during the NFL Draft or free-agent market. While RBs Jahvid Best (concussion) and Mikel Leshoure (Achilles') are under contract, the team enters the offseason without a clear No. 1 running back. If Best and Leshoure return at 100 percent, the Lions will be in good shape -- however, that is tough to bank on at this point in time. RBs Joique Bell, Jerome Harrison and Keiland Williams are also under contract.

Detroit Lions RB Jerome Harrison (head) was scheduled to undergo surgery Friday, Oct. 21, on his brain tumor. Head coach Jim Schwartz said he expects Harrison to address his health situation at some point.

Detroit Lions RB Jerome Harrison (head) was not traded to the Philadelphia Eagles because a physical showed he has a brain tumor. He has begun receiving treatment for the tumor and his long-term outlook for his life as well as his playing career appears to be good. He is expected to miss the rest of this season.
Fantasy Impact: Crazy. This trade might have saved his life. Hopefully, Harrison makes a full recovery.

The trade between the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles has been voided, as RB Jerome Harrison had some health issues. RB Ronnie Brown is back with the Eagles, and Harrison is back on the Lions roster.
Philadelphia Eagles RB Jerome Harrison will serve as the backup to RB LeSean McCoy alongside RB Dion Lewis.

The Detroit Lions acquired RB Ronnie Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles Tuesday, Oct. 18, in exchange for RB Jerome Harrison and an undisclosed 2013 draft pick.
Fantasy Impact: His value is about the same with the trade. He'll get sporadic work in a reserve role.

Detroit Lions backup RB Jerome Harrison has impressed head coach Jim Schwartz with his play during the preseason. 'Every time he goes in, he gains yards. He is a very, very productive runner,' Schwartz said. Schwartz added that Harrison doesn't get thrown for too many losses and has done a good job of breaking a lot of long runs.
Fantasy Impact: Harrison is worth a late-round flier come draft day. He has some upside, especially if you consider Jahvid Best is the only back ahead of him on the depth chart.
