Kolb was part of the musical chairs at quarterback for the Cardinals last season before eventually having his season cut short because of injury. He was the most effective starter for the Cardinals when playing last year, having nine total touchdowns to three interceptions. He had 220-plus yards three of six games. He had some down showings, though, having fewer than 150 yards his other three games. He was up and down, much like his previous season with the Cardinals. Kolb hasn't done a whole lot to distinguish himself as a legit NFL starter. He has showed flashes at times but remains inconsistent. Kolb is an accurate passer with a strong arm. He can make the tough pass in traffic, but still needs work on the deep ball. He also needs to cut down on his turnovers and make better overall decisions in the passing game. At times, he just looks indecisive with the ball, causing him to be late on many throws. This could be a make or break season for him as a quarterback as he competes for the starting job in Buffalo.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Kolb is running out of time. He has some ability but lacks consistency. We don't see him taking a huge step forward this season even if he wins the starting job in Buffalo. He might have a few good showings in a starting role but past history shows he'll be inconsistent and struggle with turnovers at times. We wouldn't bother with him come draft day.

Buffalo Bills QB Kevin Kolb said the team's up-tempo offense will help the younger players because they will not have to think as much. 'The best thing to me that tempo does,' Kolb said, 'is that it relaxes the mind of the players and they can just do what they've been doing their entire life. A big problem, especially for young players at this level, is they slow down because they're thinking too much. If you get them into a no-huddle, you get them into a quick style of offense, then they're just reading and reacting. When you're reading and reacting you're playing at your highest level and that's when you make a lot of great plays.'

Buffalo Bills QB Kevin Kolb does not think he gets sacked too much, and talked about how he should not have that label placed on him. 'No, because the label only came from really my stint in Arizona,' Kolb said at Monday's introductory news conference at One Bills Drive. 'When I was in Philly for however many games I started -- I don't even know -- I can remember going multiple games without maybe getting hit four or five times.'

Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone said the addition of QB Kevin Kolb does not mean the team will not look at quarterback prospects in the NFL Draft. 'I do not think it really is going to change the philosophy on the draft,' Marrone said. 'I think that when the position comes whatever is best for our team to get better I think we will go ahead and choose that player whoever it may be. I think that rather than trying to, and I do not want to speak for Buddy (Nix) or anyone else in the organization, rather than trying to reach or go somewhere that you do not want to go you bring the best players you can bring in and you make those guys compete. You are a better football team.'
Fantasy Impact: They better still look at getting a quarterback in the draft. None of the options on the current roster are the long-term answer for the Bills.

Buffalo Bills QB Kevin Kolb said he believes he can help the team win a Super Bowl title. 'I'm here to win the Super Bowl. Period,' Kolb said. 'For me it was just straight, 'Hey, how can I go win, how can I go be successful.'' The Bills have the longest active postseason drought in the league at 13 consecutive seasons.

Fantasy Impact: The Bills add another quarterback to compete for the starting job. Who knows who will win this starting job at this point? Flynn is worth the risk in our eyes, though. He has some upside.
