Prater was supposed to have a great season with the Broncos last year but that didn't work out. He was suspended early in the season and the Broncos cut ties with him after he was reinstated by the league. He caught on with the Lions and was their top kicker the last 11 games of the season. He had some shaky moments with his new team, making just 80.8 percent of his field goals for 84 points. The Lions liked what they say, though, and Prater heads into this season s their starting kicker. Prater has at least 133 points two of the past three seasons. Prater has a booming leg and his accuracy has improved through the years.
Prater has good value, kicking in a dome for a good offensive team. He might miss a few more kicks than your usual starting kicker but his point totals should be just fine for fantasy teams. He can get around 130 points and challenge to be a top-10 fantasy kicker.
