SUMMARY

New York Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano said he wants to incorporate a very physical style of offense next season, often called a 'Ground & Pound' offense by head coach Rex Ryan. Sparano will have full control over the offense, meaning he will call all the plays. He is expected to go with a run-first offense, but Sparano also said he wants to have a vertical passing attack. Sparano needs to improve QB Mark Sanchez, and he is interviewing possible replacements for quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh.

The addition of offensive coordinator Tony Sparano should help New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez in 2012. Sparano believes in a power-running game and he emphasizes pass protection with the tight ends and running backs. As a result, the offense would not rely as heavily on Sanchez's arm.

Despite the Miami Dolphins' resurgence in recent weeks, head coach Tony Sparano is unlikely to return as head coach next season. Sparano's only chance would likely come if the team manages to run the table and finish with a 9-7 record.
