Sweed missed all of last season because of a torn Achilles' tendon. He was injured very early in the offseason, which gives him a decent chance to be about full strength for the start of training camp. The problem for Sweed is many options moved ahead of him on the depth chart while he was out. Sweed hasn't done much to enamor the coaching staff while healthy and playing. He has just seven receptions for his career. At this point, Sweed is battling for a roster spot. He is likely going to have a hard time finding the field. Sweed is a big target (6-4) and can stretch the field in a hurry because of his size and speed. He isn't a great route runner, though, and struggles with drops.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Sweed has some talent, but doesn't seem to get "it." You never know with receivers early in their career, but Sweed isn't a guy to draft. He might be worth a waiver-wire grab if he finally puts it all together this season.

The Cincinnati Bengals worked out free-agent WR Limas Sweed (Steelers) Friday, April 13. Sweed missed the 2010 season due to an Achilles' injury, and he was waived by the Pittsburgh Steelers last season due to shoulder problems.

The Pittsburgh Steelers waived WR Limas Sweed (shoulder) from Injured Reserve this week. The team placed him on the waived/injured list Aug. 17, but once he cleared waivers they were required to keep him on Injured Reserve until his shoulder healed. Sweed received no injury settlement.
Fantasy Impact: Sweed has done nothing but disappoint since entering the league. He might get a chance with another team but don't expect much.
