SUMMARY
After a poor showing in '06, the Redskins defense rebounded in a big way last season, once again finishing in the top 10. Their rush defense was the strength, ranking fourth overall. But the secondary isn't too shabby. There are some playmakers back there for the Redskins. Carlos Rogers, Fred Smoot and Shawn Springs are all above-average corners with big-play ability. And LaRon Landry is an emerging star at safety. Linebacker London Fletcher-Baker is getting older, but remains the best tackler on the team. Fletcher can still cover a lot of ground from sideline to sideline. The Redskins have a pretty good return game. Antwaan Randle El had a down season last year, but remains a top threat as a punt returner. And Rock Cartwright does a good job in the kick return game, averaging 26 yards per game.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
The Redskins are a good platoon defense. They aren't a bad every-week starter, but don't get a ton of sacks or turnovers. But their special teams are pretty good and the secondary has the potential to get more interceptions.
