Summary

Wide Receiver Rank: #69All Players: #196
Amendola had a disastrous first season with the Patriots. He battled injury once again and eventually lost out on the coveted slot receiver duties to Julian Edelman. Amendola did have three 100-yard games and two double-digit reception performances but disappeared at times, having four games with fewer than 20 yards. Amendola has played a full season just once during his career and his career high in yards is 689. Amendola lacks size, but has good quickness and great hands. He runs good routes and is tough as nails for a player of his size. Amendola just moves the chains and has a knack for the extremely tough catch.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
It is hard to trust Amendola, who seemed setup for a career season last year and didn't live up to the hype. At this point, you have to just count on him to post his usual numbers, which are 60 or so receptions for 600 yards and a few touchdowns. Consider him a low-end No. 3 or No. 4 fantasy receiver.

comments about Danny Amendola

Notes

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola had three catches for 16 yards in Week 1. He played 71 percent of the snaps in Week 1.
Fantasy Impact: He was healthy but didn't get many targets. He'll be up and down all season.

New England Patriots WRs Julian Edelman (undisclosed) and Danny Amendola (undisclosed) did not play in the team's preseason opener Thursday, Aug. 7.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola has spent the offseason working with trainer Alex Guerrero. Guerrero is also QB Tom Brady's trainer, and he helped WR Julian Edelman prior to last season.
Fantasy Impact: This could be good news for Amendola, who still has a shot to play a big role with the Patriots.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola looks like the player that impressed the team in practice last year early on in OTAs.

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is looking forward to a more productive season from WR Danny Amendola in his second year with the team. Danny's not dissimilar to the rookies, McDaniels said. He wasn't here before, and he had an opportunity to get a foundation and a system last year. And now it's his second year, and it will be exciting to see Danny's growth. Any time you're in your second year in a system, you're more comfortable. We're excited to see what he does. However, after the team expected him to be a big part of the offense in 2013, they aren't trusting him to be a featured piece in 2014.
Fantasy Impact: Amendola is a real wild card this season after last year with the Patriots. You just don't know what you'll get from him.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) is taking part in voluntary offseason workouts with the team. He didn't have surgery on his groin this offseason but said he did a lot of rehab work and feels healthy.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola cannot be designated as a post-June 1 cut for the 2014 season. The Patriots have to carry the wide receiver on the roster into the '14 league year to make him a June 1 cut and if they do that, his '14 base is guaranteed.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola may be on the trading block following a dismal first year of his five-year, $25.5 million contract. If a trade can't be completed, the Patriots could simply release Amendola, who costs $4.575 million against the 2014 salary cap but who would leave behind $6.8 million in dead money.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola may be fighting for a roster spot in 2014. $2 million of his $3 million base salary becomes guaranteed if he is on the roster at 4pm on Mar. 11.
Fantasy Impact: This isn't a big surprise after his down season and his big contract with the Patriots.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) will attempt to heal a groin injury through rest and not surgery.
