Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman, entering his fifth season, has played for two head coaches and in three systems, with three offensive coordinators and four quarterbacks coaches. The passer is optimistic about how his offense will perform in Year 2 under offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan. 'I think our comfort level is so much higher, and I speak for the entire offense,' Freeman said. 'It's just the communication. It's all functioning at a higher level. That comes with experience. Everybody is going to be on the same page, and we're not going to hinder ourselves.' New quarterbacks coach John McNulty places more emphasis on how many points the offense scores than things like Freeman's turnovers (17 in 2012, including 10 in a span of three games) and low completion percentage (54.8). 'The payoff is more than the dink and dunk.' Freeman also stated that he doesn't feel added pressure even though he's entering the final year of his contract. Freeman was a surprise QB2 who turned in QB1 numbers for a good stretch last season before stumbling down the stretch. Perhaps the continuity will allow him to maintain a lofty pace for a longer period. Or perhaps he'll remain inconsistent, and the pressure with drafted QB Mike Glennon waiting in the wings will get to him and the O. Freeman is an interesting QB2 in 2013, for sure.
Fantasy Impact: Many are writing Freeman off this year but we still think he can perform well and help fantasy teams as a low-end No. 1. This is an offense on the rise.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan said QB Josh Freeman is much smoother in the offseason this season. 'There has been a lot of improvement from Josh, and really all the offensive players the second year in the system,' Sullivan said. 'This time last year - it is like a foreign language - just learning the formations and the calls. Now we have a complete offseason, a training camp, a preseason and 16 regular season games, and things are much smoother and we are really excited abut where we are at.'

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and multiple public statements made by head coach Greg Schiano have raised questions whether he sees Freeman as the team's long-term starter. The club drafted QB Mike Glennon in the third-round of the 2013 NFL Draft, so there will be competition during training camp and the preseason.
Fantasy Impact: It looks like this is a make or break year for Freeman. If he doesn't play at a high level, the Bucs are likely to part ways.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano cleared things up by saying that QB Josh Freeman is the team's starting quarterback Monday, May 20. Schiano said that QB Mike Glennon could 'play quickly' if necessary Sunday, May 19.
Fantasy Impact: We'll see. It wouldn't surprise to see Glennon over take him at some point this season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman said he can be more vocal of a leader, but in 2012 he thought he needed to perform better before getting on other members of the team.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman said he is more disappointed in not winning than he is in not getting a new contract this offseason. 'It bothers me a lot, knowing the type of team we have and our capabilities, being close but not quite getting there," Freeman said. 'The only reason you play this game is you want to go out and win. You want to win championships and you want to walk away and have a handful of rings. That's why you play the game. The drive is there, the intensity is there. We've just got to find a way to put it all together."

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman said he has a good relationship with head coach Greg Schiano, and they spend a lot of time together during the offseason talking about a wide range of things football and life related. 'The entire off-season, I've been in constant communication with coach,'' Freeman said. 'I had a lot of time and sat down and talked with him about a number of things football related, life related. Me and coach, we've got a great relationship. Every now and then, somebody will call you and say, 'Hey man, what's up with you and your coach?' But we know how it is. It's something I'm not really concerned about it. I'm kind of living it and I know how it is.''

Tampa Bay Buccaneers OL Davin Joseph praised QB Josh Freeman as being the right quarterback, but said the team around Freeman has to be better to help Freeman be the right quarterback. 'I'm biased, he's my friend, teammate, he's my quarterback,' Joseph said. 'But the thing that's going to make Josh 'the guy' is his team. His team is going to make him the guy. So it's his defense doing what defense is supposed to do, special teams making plays, offensive line blocking, receivers catching, running backs running. It's everything that's going to make Josh the guy."
Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-chairman Joel Glazer said the team has options when it comes to QB Josh Freeman. 'There are options, Glazer said. "You saw with the Ravens, it all worked out for them." Freeman is entering the final year of his current contract.
