Thomas played with the Jaguars and Lions last season, getting little work with both teams. He finished with 18 receptions for 108 yards. He didn't have more than 20 yards in a single game. Thomas hasn't done much since his solid '10 season. Thomas has fewer than 500-receiving yards all but one season in the NFL. Thomas is more reserve material than anything, fighting for his NFL life. Thomas doesn't have much size, but is quick with plus hands. Thomas runs good routes and has a knack for getting open. His lack of size makes him a below-average red-zone target.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Thomas is going in the wrong direction, seeing his stats dip the last few seasons. He might be able to improve some on last season but don't expect a huge jump in production. He should get a few hundred yards with a score or two.

Detroit Lions RB Joique Bell is expected to return kicks in Week 17 after WR Stefan Logan was removed from that role. WR Mike Thomas could return punts if Logan is not used in that role either.

Detroit Lions WR Mike Thomas played in just 17 snaps in Week 14, and he wasn't thrown to a single time. However, he had two carries for 25 yards.
Fantasy Impact: We thought he would get more work but that wasn't the case. He isn't worth using right now for fantasy teams.

Detroit Lions WR Mike Thomas and WR Brian Robiskie stayed after practice Monday, Nov. 19, along with WR Ryan Broyles, to work with backup QB Shaun Hill running routes and getting better acclimated to the offense. 'It's a way to get new guys who come in throughout the year to get them reps and get me reps too and teach the offense at the same time,' Hill said. All three are expected to see an increase in playing time with WR Titus Young to be inactive in Week 12 due to disciplinary reasons.

Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew and WR Mike Thomas briefly discussed the receiver's role Tuesday, Oct. 30, after his acquisition from the Jacksonville Jaguars. 'I'm pretty sure I'll be out there running around doing something,' Thomas said. He can play out of the slot, out of the backfield in a RB Jahvid Best-type role and return punts and kicks.
Fantasy Impact: We don't see him playing a huge role with the team, though. He'll be hit or miss.
