Bomar spent most of the season on the Giants practice squad before the Vikings signed him late in the year to be their No. 3 quarterback. Bomar is yet to play a down in two NFL seasons. He has the skill set to maybe succeed in this league. Bomar is a pretty accurate passer on the short to intermediate throws. He has a so-so arm and fairly quick release. Bomar needs to improve on the deep ball and reading defenses.

Bomar is having a hard time staying on an NFL roster, so using a roster spot for him on your fantasy team is a reach.

The Minnesota Vikings will not release QB Rhett Bomar after Bomar was arrested for driving while intoxicated Sunday, Aug. 7. Head coach Leslie Frazier said the team wants to deal with the matter internally. Bomar addressed his teammates about the situation Monday, Aug. 8.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said the team wants QBs Christian Ponder, Joe Webb and Rhett Bomar to compete for the starting quarterback job during training camp. Frazier also did not rule out the possibility of signing a veteran quarterback once free agency begins.
Fantasy Impact: That group isn't too exciting. Expect a lot of runs called if these guys go into camp as the likely starters.
