Running Back Rank: #55 Overall: #228
Hardesty tore his ACL before the start of his rookie season. He had a tough year as he watched Peyton Hillis emerge as the go-to back in Cleveland. The Browns aren't giving up on Hardesty just yet, though. He has a chance to earn a lot of work as the top backup to Hillis, who faded down the stretch last season. The Browns have indicated a platoon situation could happen this season, which is good news for Hardesty. He'll need to prove he is healthy. Hardesty is a physical runner. He does a good job setting up his blocks and breaking tackles. He probably lacks ideal speed to be an every-down back but has enough to make some plays to the outside.

Hardesty is worth a flier. He could surprise if given some chances. And we aren't completely sold on Hillis, making Hardesty all the more intriguing. Even in just a platoon role, Hardesty could get 700 or so total yards and five touchdowns. He is a good low-risk, high-reward pick for fantasy teams. Hardesty will be overlooked come draft day because of Hillis. |
