Dixon fell down the depth chart and didn't get much work for the 49ers last season, rushing 21 times for 78 yards. His numbers have declined every season since entering the NFL. He has just 402-rushing yards in three seasons and fewer than 100 yards each of the last two years. At this point, Dixon is hoping to be a No. 3 or 4 back, fighting for his NFL life. Dixon is a big back that isn't brought down easy and does a good job of moving the pile. He is more of a finisher than big-play threat. Dixon doesn't have much speed and won't make many plays on the outside.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Dixon has little value as he might not even have a roster spot this coming year. He isn't worth a draft spot. Until he starts getting consistent work, don't bother.

San Francisco 49ers RB Anthony Dixon stands a good chance of making the final roster, according to offensive coordinator Greg Roman. 'I think we can look to (Dixon) to have his most productive season as a Niner,' Roman said. Dixon seemed hopelessly buried on the depth chart at running back when training camp began, but he has taken advantage of recent injuries at the position and has strung together two solid preseason games.

San Francisco 49ers RB Anthony Dixon told the Mississippi State student newspaper that he is at 250 pounds at this point and expected to spend some time at fullback this season. Dixon said he wants to be versatile enough to used as a tailback or a fullback.
Fantasy Impact: At that weight, he won't be a huge asset as a runner, but should get plenty of chances to block.
