SUMMARY
Running Back Rank: #89
Overall: #411

Dwyer was active just one game his rookie season, playing the last game of the year. He rushed nine times for 28 yards. Dwyer can work his way up the depth chart but is pretty far down at the moment. He could be the No. 3 back in 2011 if all goes well. Dwyer is a big back, but has good speed and cutback ability. Dwyer also is tough to bring down once he has the ball in his hands. He has battled weight issues, so he'll need to stay in shape to have a role with the team.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Dwyer has some upside, but he'll need to get some playing time before he is worth using for fantasy teams. He might be worth a late-round flier in deeper leagues, but using a draft pick on him probably isn't a good idea just yet. Dwyer needs to have some things break his way to crack the lineup.
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer will be the emergency running back for Week 6 because of the return of RB Rashard Mendenhall.
Fantasy Impact: Dwyer has a 100-yard game last week and now likely won't see the field Week 6.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer rushed for 107 yards on 11 carries against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5.
Fantasy Impact: He got his first carries of the season and made some things happen. He could get more chances going forward.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer has trimmed down and appears to be in the best shape of his short career, which is a good sign after he showed up to the start of training camp almost up 20 pounds from last year. He likely sealed a roster spot during the preseason, and appears to be the team's fourth running back. Dwyer said he is constantly trying to prove himself.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer could be active for the team's Week 17 game if RB Mewelde Moore (knee) is not able to play, reports Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie RB Jonathan Dwyer rushed 20 times for 86 yards against the Carolina Panthers in the team's preseason finale Thursday, Sept. 2.
Fantasy Impact: Dwyer has done a pretty good job this preseason. He probably didn't beat out Mewelde Moore for the backup job but is close.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer (shoulder) and DE Steve McClendon (knee) did not play Saturday, Aug. 21, reports Gerry Dulac, of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jonathan Dwyer did not report to training camp in the best shape and was hampered by a hamstring during the early portion of camp, reports John Harris, of The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Head coach Mike Tomlin and running backs coach Kirby Wilson were not happy with Dwyer's performance during practice Friday, Aug. 6, and made him participate in certain drills several times because of his performance.
Fantasy Impact: Looks like Dwyer might have a long way to go to move up the depth chart this season.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said RB Jonathan Dwyer and RB Isaac Redman will compete for the short yardage duties during training camp, reports Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Fantasy Impact: Dwyer would seem to have the upperhand, but nothing is certain at this point.
