New York Giants WR Victor Cruz could still hold out of training camp, according to a source with knowledge of these types of situations, despite the fact that Cruz will sign his one-year tender on Friday, June 14. Cruz will be under contract and thus subject to fines of $30,000 per day if he doesn't show. He could have lost $2.289 million if the Giants had retracted the tender offer on Monday, June 17, and replaced it with an offer of $590,000. At that rate for fines, Cruz could afford 76 days of them before he'd reach the $2.289 million for which he's signing his tender. The source said there were no indications that the team was going to rescind the offer, but Cruz didn't want to take the chance.

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin is starting to get impatient with WR Victor Cruz not being at offseason team activities. 'I've been optimistic since Day 1 but it hasn't gotten me anywhere, has it?' Coughlin said after the first practice of the Giants' three-day minicamp. 'I'll just continue to be (optimistic). But the clock is running. This is something that at least he could've benefited by, if nothing else, this minicamp. But you have to realize that there is no contract at this time. So without a contract he's not going to be here.'
