Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt (elbow) revealed that he played through the entire 2012 season with multiple torn ligaments in his left elbow. He dislocated the elbow in the first week of practices in August. He said his elbow now feels great and that he hopes not to have to wear a brace again. 'All the ligaments in there were torn, they were all gone, so they had to have time to recover and regroup,' Watt said.

Houston Texans DT J.J. Watt (hand) suffered a laceration to his left hand in the first quarter of the Pro Bowl Sunday, Jan. 27. He was able to continue playing, and he even lined up at wide receiver on the third play of the game, missing a pass from Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning.

Houston Texans DT J.J. Watt managed four solo tackles in Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts, but he did not record any sacks. He finishes the regular season with 20.5 sacks, two under the NFL single-season record.

Houston Texans DL J.J. Watt believes he is still in the running for the league's Most Valuable Player award. 'Being a defensive player, I want a defensive player to win it, and I think I have as good a chance as any,' Watt said. 'And if I'm not even in the discussion, I think it's going to be tough for anybody to ever get into the discussion again. I would love to be a representative for defensive players.' Houston Texans DT J.J. Watt picked up another sack in Week 16 against the Minnesota Vikings to give him 20.5 sacks for the season. He is within two of the NFL single-season record set by former New York Giants DL Michael Strahan in 2001. Watt is the ninth player in NFL history with at least 20 sacks in a season.
