Tennessee Titans CB Alterraun Verner said he has been impressed with CB Tommie Campbell and believes he will be a starter in the future. 'I have no doubt about Tommie Campbell being a starter somewhere, whether it's here later on or next year, or somewhere else,' Verner said. 'I feel like he has a lot of skills that are going to make him successful in this league and he's hungry. He wants to learn. He wants to get better, so I have no doubt about it.' Campbell received some of Verner's playing time in the team's Week 17 game.

Tennessee Titans CB Tommie Campbell has yet to take a single defensive snap this season, as he has been used exclusively on special teams. Campbell appeared to be the odds-on favorite to be the third cornerback after a strong preseason. 'I thought I had a pretty good training camp at cornerback, so I don't know (what happened). Who knows?' Campbell said. 'I just know I have to continue to get better. I guess it's experience or whatever the case may be, but I just need to get better.' Campbell has a team-high four special teams tackles through two games.

'(Campbell is) doing a good job,' defensive coordinator Jerry Gray said. 'We know he can run. He's fast and long. The thing he doesn't have is a lot of playing time on the job.
