Summary

The Titans had a mediocre showing defensively last season, ranking 18th overall. Tennessee was about the same when it came to fantasy points, coming in at 19th in fantasy points. Their pass defense was more of a strength than rush defense but that unit lost Cortland Finnegan, who was their top cover corner. He'll be missed. But even with that said, the pass defense should be able to produce similar numbers, mostly because of an improved pass rush with Kamerion Wimbley helping at defensive end. And Derrick Morgan should be better at the other defensive end spot, providing some good pressure on the quarterback. Marc Mariani was a surprise find on special teams last season. He did well in the return game and should provide a spark once again in this area for the Titans.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
The Titans look to be about the same defensively this season, so count on them to be a spot starter for fantasy teams. Their return game has a little upside and the sack totals should be better, but they don't turn the ball over a ton and could allow some high yardage and point totals on occasion.

comments about Zach Brown

Notes

Tennessee Titans LB Zach Brown credits former LB coach Frank Bush for his development this year. "I learned a lot from him,'' Brown said of Bush. "He always pushed me to get better, and he helped me out a lot. Without Frank Bush, I don't think I would have had nearly as good a rookie year as I had. Everybody says behind a great player there is a great coach." Bush was relieved of his duties Thursday, Jan. 10, which was a surprise to Brown. "It was a shock to me. I thought we'd keep Frank Bush,'' Brown said. "I thought the linebackers did well. But I guess that's the business. I wish him well, though."

Tennessee Titans LB Akeem Ayers has two of his four sacks and LB Zach Brown has 3.5 of his 4.5 sacks in the last four games. 'I think both,' head coach Mike Munchak said. '(Defensive coordinator Jerry Gray) has been calling blitzes. They're just knowing when to blitz better and learning how to disguise things better. That's a big part of it.'

Tennessee Titans LB Akeem Ayers was on the field for just 36 snaps in the Week 8 game against the Indianapolis Colts, while rookie LB Zach Brown was on the field for 56 of his team's 76 defensive snaps. 'We felt Zach was ready to take over the nickel 'Will' linebacker spot off the ball,' head coach Mike Munchak said. 'He's been doing some of that the last two or three weeks.' Ayers is being used more as a rush end or defensive end.
