Posey is a well-rounded receiver that runs solid routes and knows how to get open. He doesn't have exceptional speed but is quick enough. Posey is a big kid that uses his frame well to shield defenders and get open. He does lack some toughness, though, despite his size and will need to get more physical if he hopes to play a big role with the Texans. For now, expect him to be a reserve receiver for the Texans, serving as a No. 4 or 5 his rookie year.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Posey might be a bigger factor in a few years but isn't going to do much damage as a rookie in a deep reserve role. He might get a few hundred yards.

Houston Texans WR DeVier Posey (Achilles') said Sunday, Jan. 13, that he tore his left Achilles' tendon during the AFC Divisional Round playoff game loss against the New England Patriots. He walked out of the locker room on crutches with a walking boot. Posey hauled in his first NFL touchdown reception before departing.
Fantasy Impact: This is a shame as Posey was starting to play well in the offense and getting a bigger role. He probably won't even be ready for the start of 2013.

Houston Texans WR DeVier Posey, the team's third-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, has not logged a reception in his first two preseason games. Fellow rookie WRs Lestar Jean and Keshawn Martin have played so well that Posey has received fewer opportunities. 'The way it kind of worked out last night, the guys that are working with the third group did not get many reps last night,' head coach Gary Kubiak said.
Fantasy Impact: Posey is off to a slow start but we wouldn't give up on him. He could still earn some playing time before the season is out.

Updating a previous report, the deal for Houston Texans WR DeVier Posey is worth $2.69 million over four years. He received a signing bonus of $684,092, and base salaries of $390,000 in 2012, $510,000 in 2013, $630,000 in 2014 and $748,000 in 2015.

Houston Texans WR DeVier Posey continues to show well during organized team activities (OTAs), but head coach Gary Kubiak wants him to work on his conditioning. 'He continues to do good things. I want his conditioning level, and I'm not saying it's bad but all these young guys need to get to where you can go all day in this Texas heat,' Kubiak said.
Fantasy Impact: Posey has a chance to play a big role as a rookie.
