Wilkins had a banner year for the Rams, missing just five kicks while scoring 131 points. It was the most points scored by Wilkins since the 2003 season. Wilkins has 117 or more points in five of his last eight seasons. He doesn't have a huge leg, but can make some kicks from 50-plus yards. And his accuracy is very good, making 83 percent of his career kicks, including 85 percent or higher of his kicks in three of his last four seasons. The Rams have a very good offensive team, and Wilkins should get plenty of work.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Wilkins remains a top No. 1 kicker, especially if you consider the Rams offense should be very good this season. He'll be one of the first five kickers taken.

The St. Louis Rams announced Friday, Feb. 29, that PK Jeff Wilkins will retire. Wilkins ends his career as the Rams' all-time leader in scoring with 1,223 points. His streak of 371 consecutive PATs is the Rams franchise record and tied for best in NFL history with Denver Broncos PK Jason Elam's 371 from 1993-2002.
Fantasy Impact: He was a great fantasy kicker for many years, so Wilkins will be missed.

Bill Coats, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams PK Jeff Wilkins is on pace to shatter several NFL records. Wilkins has 18 field goals through the first five games, putting him on pace for a season total of 58 field goals. The record for field goals in a season is 40, set by Arizona Cardinals PK Neil Rackers in 2005. He is also on pace for 67 field goal attempts, which would beat the previous record of 49 field goal attempts held by former PKs Bruce Gossett in 1966 and Curt Knight in 1971. Former Green Bay Packers RB/PK Paul Hornung's record of 176 points scored in 1960 is in danger of falling to Wilkins as well. The Rams kicker is on pace to score 195 points.
