Wide Receiver Rank: #257 Overall: #785
Mason saw his stats dip last season, but he remained the most dependable receiver in the Ravens offense. He had 802-receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Last season did break his streak of three straight 1,000-yard seasons, though. But it wasn't a surprise to see his numbers do down at the age of 36 (37 now). Mason had just one 100-yard game, but had at least three receptions in 11 of 16 games. Mason keeps chugging along, but you have to wonder how much he has left, especially if you consider he has played every game the last eight seasons. At this stage, Mason is more of a possession receiver than anything. He'll be the No. 3 receiver in the Jets' offense. He still has great hands, decent speed and runs above-average routes.

Mason started to slow last season, but still showed he can help fantasy teams. The knock on Mason his entire fantasy career has been touchdowns (never scored double-digit), so don't expect that to change at this point of his career. He can still get you some catches and yards, but another dip in stats should be expected, making him a No. 4 or 5 for fantasy teams. |

| Former NFL WR Derrick Mason said the New York Jets' locker room was dysfunctional, and he believes the dysfunction that continued after he was traded was evidence that he was used as a scapegoat. 'They were a mess,' Mason said. 'It was a cluster you-know-what. You don't see stuff like this, it's not the norm. Before I left, you could see it materializing. Things heated up. If I was the problem, it would have stopped. If I was the guy complaining, it would have stopped. I wasn't the cancer in the locker room.' |
