SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #76
Overall: #419

Batch started two of the four games Ben Roethlisberger was suspended last season. He played in three games total and didn't do too badly considering the circumstances. Batch had a three-touchdown game one of his starts. He didn't throw for many yards (fewer than 200 every game) but completed 59 percent of his passes and had a 76.2 passer rating. Batch hasn't been a huge factor in recent seasons (less than 55-pass attempts in every season since 2001), but has done alright when given a chance in spot duty. Batch continues to be the consummate backup NFL quarterback. He has starting experience and has produced when given the chance. He isn't an every-week starter at this stage of his career (36 years old), but can produce in spot duty. Batch has a good arm and can make plays on the run.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Batch probably helped fantasy teams for the last time in his career last season. Don't expect any three-touchdown games in the near future.
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Charlie Batch went 15-for-22 for 208 yards and one interception against the St. Louis Rams in Week 16.
Fantasy Impact: A nice showing for Batch, who ran the offense well and made some plays when needed.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Charlie Batch will start Week 16 in place of injured QB Ben Roethlisberger (ankle).
Fantasy Impact: He has a good matchup but isn't much of a fantasy play this late in the season.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) will be a game-time decision against the St. Louis Rams in Week 16. If he doesn't start, QB Charlie Batch will be under center.

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said QB Charlie Batch will start in Week 15 if QB Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) is not able to play.
Fantasy Impact: We aren't sure who will start at this point. If Batch goes, we would avoid him, though.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (thumb) re-injured his broken right thumb while taking a snap in practice Thursday, Dec. 1, and did not finish practice. However, he expects to be fine for Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals. QB Charlie Batch would start if Roethlisberger has to sit out.
Fantasy Impact: We'll keep you posted but doesn't sound like a big deal.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Charlie Batch will be the primary backup quarterback entering the regular season.
Fantasy Impact: Not a surprise as Dennis Dixon continues to have his struggles.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Charlie Batch is the likely candidate to be the team's backup quarterback following the injury to QB Byron Leftwich (arm). Head coach Mike Tomlin said Monday, Aug. 29, that a final determination on the new backup will not be made until after the final preseason game. Tomlin gave QB Ben Roethlisberger a day off practice Monday, Aug. 29, and split the repetitions between Batch and QB Dennis Dixon.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he will not decide whether QB Charlie Batch and QB Dennis Dixon will be the No. 2 quarterback until after the final preseason game.

Following a serious injury to Pittsburgh Steelers QB Byron Leftwich (arm), QBs Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon are now fighting for the primary backup job to starter QB Ben Roethlisberger. The two had been competing for the third and final spot on the depth chart at the position.
Fantasy Impact: Batch might be the favorite with Dixon having some struggles this preseason.
