At age 33, Green is about done in the NFL, signing with a UFL team this offseason. He didn't show much burst or playmaking ability last season. Green might help in a reserve role, but isn't going to get much playing time at this stage of his career. He is former 1,000-yard back and elite back in the league, but that was several years ago.

Retired RB Ahman Green said he will attempt a comeback this season and believes he can play at least five more seasons. Green said he would be willing to play special teams if signed with a team.

Former Green Bay Packers RB Ahman Green was released by the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL Sunday, June 5. A hamstring in training camp set him back. He last played for the Omaha Nighthawks in the UFL in 2010.

Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy seemed to indicate the team may be close to re-signing free-agent OT Mark Tauscher. If Tauscher is retained, the only other unrestricted free agent left for the Packers would be free-agent RB Ahman Green.
