SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #18
Overall: #133

McNabb had another rocky season. He was eventually benched for Rex Grossman late in the year, his first with the Redskins. McNabb wasn't terrible as the Redskins starter, but never won over the coaching staff. He had three 300-yard games and touchdowns in all but one of the games he played. McNabb did have more interceptions (15) than touchdowns (14) for the season, though, and had just two multi-touchdown games. His interception total was the highest of his career and it was the first time he had more interceptions than touchdowns for a season. The Redskins receivers didn't help McNabb a whole lot, though, as this unit was far from being among the best in the league. All the struggles in Washington shouldn't be put on McNabb. He still has something left in the tank, which is why the Vikings acquired him. He'll serve as starter until rookie Christian Ponder is ready. McNabb moves around the pocket well and does a good job of making plays on the run. He still has a plus arm, but will tend to struggle with accuracy at times and his decision making wasn't quite what it used to be last season. Health can be a concern for McNabb, who has a played a full season just once the last seven seasons.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
His days of being an elite fantasy quarterback are about over. He can help in a reserve role, but can't be depended on to be an every-week starter. If he plays a full season, he'll get you around 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns, which isn't too exciting for fantasy teams.
Free-agent QB Donovan McNabb (Vikings) does not plan to retire, and said he has three teams in mind for his services, although he wouldn't name them. 'I see three teams in the NFL, right now, that I feel like I can add a little bit of flavor to it from what they have,' McNabb said Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Fantasy Impact: We wouldn't count on a return but you never know.

Chicago Bears WR Devin Hester said he is not in favor of the team signing free-agent QB Donovan McNabb (Vikings). Hester believes McNabb could not get up to speed fast enough with the Bears' offense to make a difference. And Hester even suggested that McNabb's arrival could be counterproductive, as any time spent working with McNabb would take away from time the rest of the offense needs to work with QB Caleb Hanie. 'It's going to be tough right now to pick up a quarterback that hasn't played in the Mike Martz offense,' Hester said. 'This is a difficult offense to run, so as far as a quarterback who hasn't played in the offense, right now it's going to be a waste of time.'

After the struggles of Chicago Bears QB Caleb Hanie in Week 13 and QB Josh McCown not deemed ready enough after more than a week of orientation with the offense, team management will be in conversations Monday, Dec. 5, about free-agent QB Donovan McNabb (Vikings), according to sources. Conversations do not equate to 'negotiations' or serious talks, however.
Fantasy Impact: Not a surprise after that fiasco this past weekend.
Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said the team is not interested in signing free-agent QB Donovan McNabb (Vikings).
