Wide Receiver Rank: #139 Overall: #462
A move to Baltimore didn't do much for the career of Houshmandzadeh. He had his lowest totals since his rookie season, catching just 30 passes despite playing all 16 games. Houshmandzadeh did averaged 13.3 yards per reception, making some big plays, but he was a nonfactor in the passing game most weeks. He had more than 50 yards just once all season. At age 33 (turns 34 late September), he is nearing the end, especially if you consider his decline in stats in recent seasons. When at the top of his game, Houshamdzadeh was a top possession receiver. He has just two 1,000-yard seasons for his career, but more than 70 catches six times. Houshmandzadeh still has good hands and runs solid routes, but lacks some burst and playmaking ability. He'll serve a reserve role for the coming season.

He still has a little value in PPR leagues, but that is really about it. He could top last season's number but don't expect a huge jump at this stage of the game. He might get 40 catches for 500 yards and a few scores. There are a lot more exciting, younger options worth grabbing for your fantasy team. |

| Oakland Raiders WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh is already making an impression despite just joining the team Tuesday, Nov. 1. 'He understands concepts, he understands schemes, alignments, all the little things a lot of receivers overlook,' QB Carson Palmer said Friday, Nov. 4. 'He's a student of the game, and it's going to be a really big help, especially for these young guys to have him around. Just in the first day, they were kind of taken aback by how much he knows.' |
| Fantasy Impact: We still expect Houshmandzadeh to have little impact on the field. He proved he was about done last season. |

| Oakland Raiders WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh feels he will be able to add to the team's receiving corps as he will be able to work the middle of the field. 'With the guys they have, they're all fast,' Houshmandzadeh said, 'but they don't really have a guy who can work the middle of the field and can run routes. So I can bring that to the table. With those guys on the outside and the way Carson throws the ball and his ability to understand what a defense is trying to do, we can be really good if we put this thing together real fast.' |

| Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer said WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh will add a lot of leadership and competitiveness to the receiving corps. 'T.J.'s always been a tremendous competitor,' Palmer said. 'He has a chip on his shoulder. He doesn't ever want to be covered, doesn't ever want to drop the ball, he doesn't ever want to lose a game and he'll do whatever it takes to make sure those things don't happen. But he's consistent. He's really another quarterback on the field. He knows more about offensive and defensive football than any non-quarterback I've ever been around.' |

Jackson has familiarity with Houshmandzadeh from their days with the Cincinnati Bengals, and Jackson likes that he has the ability to play the slot. Houshmandzadeh is expected to play in Week 9 versus the Denver Broncos. |
