Team Grade:
Carolina Panthers
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

The Panthers have a great defense, so that will keep them in plenty of games - even if the offense has some struggles, which is possible. It will be hard for Carolina to match last season but should contend for a playoff spot and division title. The defense can shut down the opposition and Newton can carry an offense at times, which is a good combo. Just don't be surprised if the team loses a couple more game compared to last year.
Tight end Greg Olsen has been very good since joining the Panthers but he can take his game to another level this season. He is going to be the top passing target and should get a ton of targets with the Panthers thin at the receiver position. Olsen has the trust of Cam Newton and should lead the team in targets for the season. It wouldn't surprise if he even hits the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career. He'll be a solid No. 1 fantasy tight end this season.
We don't necessarily think Cam Newton will be awful this season but he likely won't live up to his draft spot. Newton lost a ton at receiver and didn't gain much during the offseason. He just has little to work with in the passing game and the running game is a concern with two backs that seem to be fading rather than getting better. It is going to be hard for Newton to produce big numbers in this offense. It is a shame to see him not being able to shine because of a lack of supporting talent.

Team Notes

May 25, 04:12 PM Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton said no one has the size, the speed, the arm strength or the intangibles that he has. 'I'm not saying that to say I'm a one-on-one type of person that this league will never see another? I'm just saying that so much of my talents have not been seen in one person.'
May 21, 05:02 PM Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) is nursing a strained hamstring he suffered last week, according to a source. Benjamin is not likely to participate in organized team activities next week.
May 19, 10:43 AM Carolina Panthers RB Cameron Artis-Payne is expected to win the No. 2 running back job behind starting RB Jonathan Stewart. Artis-Payne, a 2015 fifth-round draft choice, should play a significant role in the offense, in the opinion of ESPN.com's David Newton. Rookie RB Brandon Wegher and RB Fozzy Whittaker are likely to compete for the No. 3 job.
May 19, 09:32 AM Carolina Panthers WR Jerricho Cotchery is expected to remain with the Panthers as their No. 3 or No. 4 wide receiver in 2015, according to ESPN.com's David Newton.

Mar 28, 05:02 PM Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart will ideally be limited to 15 carries a game, according to head coach Ron Rivera. The team will look to draft a running back in the 2015 NFL Draft that will likely take eight to 10 carries per game.

Mar 27, 11:42 AM Carolina Panthers WR Stephen Hill may be an option in 2015, and head coach Ron Rivera said he's excited to see Hill in camp. 'With his size (6-4, 215) and speed and his ability to get vertical, if he can assimilate to what we do - and I think he will,' Rivera said. 'He seems to be a very smart man - he might be a guy that has an opportunity to contribute for us.'
