Outlook

The Bengals have been a fixture in the playoffs the last few seasons. We don't see a change in that this season. The defense is a top-five unit and the offense does enough to get this team plenty of wins. Expect more of the same this year. But until the Bengals get better play at quarterback during the playoffs, this team won't do much in the postseason. It could be a make or break year for a lot of people on this team as the franchise wants more during the playoffs this year.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Running back Jeremy Hill had a big rookie season, emerging as the starter for the Bengals. But remember, he didn't start from day one last year, so his numbers can improve from last year. Hill will be the starter in this run-first offense, giving him plenty of touches on a weekly basis. He has a chance to be an elite fantasy back this season. The only thing holding him back from even bigger numbers is below average reception totals at running back. Until he improves those reception totals, Hill will be just outside that elite group of fantasy backs.
FANTASY DUD
You pretty much know what to expect from quarterback Andy Dalton at this point of his career. He'll give you some big games but disappear in others. He is a tough player to count on for fantasy teams, so don't expect a sudden change this year. The Bengals still lack a top No. 2 receiver and play more of a run-first offense. This hurts Dalton's overall numbers. Plus, Dalton seems to be on the hot seat to produce better this year, especially in the playoffs. This could result in him pressing a little more and making more mistakes. Please don't count on Dalton to be anything more than a No. 2 for fantasy teams.

Team Notes

May 21, 04:13 PM Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd will get chance to earn immediate playing time, according to new offensive coordinator Ken Zampese. 'He struck me as a guy that can play slot early, and learn the outside spot and be productive out there as we go. He's played a lot of slot. He's very familiar with where the bodies are coming from down in there. And he's got good vision, football IQ and instincts to avoid and get up field," Zampese said.
May 19, 10:23 PM Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd said he believes playing with QB Andy Dalton will help him elevate his performance. 'With him throwing me to open space, making me catch it away from defenders, making it a lot easier for me I feel like it'll just take my game to a whole other level than what I think it's already at,' Boyd said. 'It'll completely change me.'
