The Bengals had a great season last year but struggled in the playoffs once again. They need to take that next step during the postseason. Could this be the year? Much of it will depend on Andy Dalton, who has struggled with his playoff chances. A move to a more run-first approach might be a good thing for Dalton, taking a little of the pressure off of him. The Bengals have an elite defense that can shut down the opposition and keep them in almost any game. This will be a very good team once again that could take a step forward in the playoffs this season.
Running back Giovani Bernard moves into the starting lineup his second season in the league. He had a very good rookie season but lost plenty of touches to BenJarvus Green-Ellis. That won't be the case this season but he will have Jeremy Hill to contend with for carries but Bernard should get more work than last season. Bernard is a complete back that does well as a runner and receiver. He lacks some size but has explosion and big-game ability. We expect plenty of big games from him this season and huge yardage numbers.
Tight end Jermaine Gresham saw his numbers dip last season and another dip wouldn't be a surprise with Tyler Eifert emerging as the big-play target at tight end for the Bengals. Gresham just doesn't bring much to the table anymore. He'll get some catches but his yards aren't very good and he has never been much of a red-zone threat. Gresham is no longer fantasy relevant in his current situation. Eifert is the tight end to own in Cincinnati.

Jul 21, 10:44 AM Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill could split carries with RB Giovani Bernard this upcoming season and receive over 200 carries, in the opinion of Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson.

Fantasy Impact: That seems like an awful lot of work but we'll see. Hill certainly has some upside for the coming season.
Jul 18, 09:22 PM Cincinnati Bengals TE Jermaine Gresham (hernia) could sit out practice early in training camp, because he is recovering from offseason hernia surgery.
Jul 18, 09:12 PM Cincinnati Bengals WR Dane Sanzenbacher could be used as a kick or punt returner if needed this upcoming season.
Jul 18, 09:12 PM Cincinnati Bengals CB Adam Jones is expected to be the team's primary punt returner this upcoming season.
Jul 17, 02:12 PM Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton should receive a contract extension before the start of the regular season, according to WR A.J. Green. Green said he believes the team knows Dalton is the quarterback to take them into the future.
Jul 17, 02:12 PM Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green said he is not worried about a contract extension, because the team picked up his 2015 option. 'I think I'm on the backburner just because of the option. That's fine with me,' Green said. 'I don't even look at it like that. I just go out there and play and my time will come. It's not surprising. Teams always want to wait. I'm fine with my option and my $10 million. I'll take it.'
Jul 17, 09:52 AM Cincinnati Bengals OT Andrew Whitworth could see a game or two at offensive guard if OG Clint Boling (knee) isn't ready for the season.
Jul 16, 02:23 PM Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (shoulder) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp even though he missed offseason workouts because of a shoulder injury.
