Team Grade:
Green Bay Packers
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

The Packers had some struggles last season but still made the playoffs. They remain one of the top teams in the league and should improve on last season. The defense made some positive additions and the offense will be as good as ever. Green Bay can finish with double-digit wins and challenge for a spot in the Super Bowl. They have the talent to make a lot of noise in 2014.
Running back Eddie Lacy was good last season but should take his game to a new level this season. He can be an elite back in this league and offense. The Packers are a pass-first team but going to the run more because of Lacy. He'll score double-digit touchdowns in this offense and can get around 1,800 total yards. He is a top three-down back capable of huge things as long as he gets the touches.
Receiver Jarrett Boykin played well in an expanded role last season and will serve as the No. 3 receiver for the Packers to open this season. But he has rookie Davante Adams pushing him for playing time, which isn't a good thing because Adams is more talented than Boykin. And while Boykin played well last season, he was inconsistent at times. He doesn't really wow in any one area, so it might just be a matter of time before he is demoted below Adams.

Team Notes

Jul 21, 11:23 AM Green Bay Packers FB John Kuhn didn't have a quarterback pressure in 325 snaps last season, with half of the snaps coming in spread formations. 'He did block better,' an NFC North scout said. 'He can cover you up as a lead (blocker) but he's just not great there. He's valuable because he's really good in pass protection and he can catch the ball.'
Jul 19, 12:32 PM Green Bay Packers C Corey Linsley could be in line for the starting center job if C JC Tretter is not able to handle the job.
Jul 18, 04:52 PM Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said his body has been feeling good to the point where he can keep his legs underneath him for a long time. Rodgers attributed his well-being to changes he's made off the field regarding his eating patterns.
Jul 18, 04:22 PM Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers said he has to be instinctual and rely on his quick reactions. Rodgers said playing the way he has been gives him an advantage.
Jul 17, 03:32 PM Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews (thumb) believes he will be ready for the start of training camp, but must prove he can stay healthy once he does return. 'He has to show that he can line up and stay healthy,' linebackers coach Winston Moss said.
Jul 17, 03:32 PM Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers said LB Julius Peppers may move around on the defense and play a hybrid type role for the team. 'I can tell you that things we've asked him to do, he's done a nice job of,' defensive coordinator Dom Capers said of Peppers. 'He'll be one of those, quote, hybrid-type guys. He'll rush, he'll drop, he'll do a lot of different things. 'He'll play different spots for us. I'm glad we have him. He's a rare guy from a talent standpoint. He's done a nice job mentally of picking up what we're asking him to do and, quite frankly, has looked pretty comfortable doing it.'
Jul 17, 02:12 PM Free-agent TE Jermichael Finley (neck) is scheduled to meet with doctors Thursday, July 17, to review MRI's and discuss the next step in the process. There is nothing imminent between Finley and the Green Bay Packers.
Jul 17, 08:42 AM The Green Bay Packers want to keep RB Eddie Lacy on the field for all three downs, not necessarily to touch the ball more, but to keep substitutions from slowing down the offense. He'll need to improve his pass blocking and should see an increase in targets. Lacy is a solid RB1 that could see more value in PPR leagues than last season.

Fantasy Impact: We really think Lacy is going to have a huge season this coming year.
Jul 15, 08:43 PM Free-agent TE Jermichael Finley (Packers) is still a possible option for the New York Giants, according Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News. Samuel said the team could consider Finely if TE Adrien Robinson and TE Larry Donnell fail to impress during the preseason.
Jul 15, 07:33 PM Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy will try to be more involved in all aspects of the game, according to offensive coordinator Tom Clements. Clements admitted the team hasn't figured out how many carries they want Lacy to have this year.
Jul 15, 01:13 PM Free-agent TE Jermichael Finley (Packers) is receiving interest from the Pittsburgh Steelers. It should be noted that the Steelers' neurosurgeon, Dr. Joseph Maroon, performed Finley's surgery in November and cleared him in May. 'Pittsburgh have showed me a couple deals, but we all know the money ain't what it's supposed to be,' said Finley, who has 223 career catches for 2,785 yards and 20 touchdowns. 'If I quit the game right now, I can take tax-free money, and that's a difficult thing that I'm going through with myself ?'
Jul 15, 03:33 AM Free-agent TE Jermichael Finley (Packers) plans to undergo another round of tests Wednesday, July 16, and he will send those tests to all 32 teams in an effort to show that he is fully healthy.
Jul 14, 02:13 PM Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy would like to run 75 offensive plays per game this upcoming season so the opponents would have less time to adjust. 'I've always been of the belief of getting as many shots as you can, so we've always emphasized playing as fast as you can. When you have as many three-down players as you can possibly have, obviously your substitution patterns are cleaner. You're not subbing because you have to, you're subbing just when you need to,' McCarthy said. The team ran an average of 67.125 plays per game in 2013, which ranked 11th in the NFL.
Jul 12, 12:02 PM Green Bay Packers WR Jarrett Boykin will be entering training camp as the No. 3 wide receiver, and it will be hard for one of the other wide receivers to outperform him for the job.
Jul 12, 12:02 PM Green Bay Packers tight ends coach Jerry Fontenot said the competition for the starting tight end job will be wide open when training camp starts. 'I think we are pretty wide open at this point,' Fontenot said. 'I think guys have shown some progress, and those guys warrant a much bigger look. And I think once we get to training camp, we'll have an idea of a rotation, at least, and giving guys reps just to make sure they're ready to start the season.' TE Andrew Quarless may be the safest option to start at this point, but TE Richard Rodgers could start in the near future because of his performance during offseason workouts.

Fantasy Impact: At this point, Rodgers might be the favorite to start but nothing is certain right now.
Jul 11, 11:45 AM Green Bay Packers TE Richard Rodgers got praise from head coach Mike McCarthy after Rodgers had a very good spring. 'Richard Rodgers ... had a very good spring,' McCarthy said. 'There haven't been too many days where we have not walked off the field and reviewed film and felt very good about the things he is doing. 'The game is very natural to him. I've been very pleased with Richard so far.'
