2015 DRAFT GUIDE
Team Grade:
Green Bay Packers
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

Outlook

The Packers are one of the best teams in all of football. The offense just keeps churning along while the defense is getting better and better. Green Bay is maybe the most complete team in the NFC right now, making them a legit contender for a Super Bowl run. As long as Aaron Rodgers is heathy, this team is going to win a lot of games and make some noise in the NFC.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Many thought receiver Davante Adams was going to have a breakout season last year but that didnā??t come to fruition. We still like his chances to get things going in this offense and become a star at receiver. Adams is a big-play threat with the ball in his hands. Look for the Packers to use him more this year. Remember, they have produced many productive No. 3 receivers, so Adams can get his targets despite playing with Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb.
FANTASY DUD
Tight end Andrew Quarless is the starting tight end for the Packers but has a small grip on the job. He has some youngsters pushing him for playing time. It only seems a matter of time before he falls down the depth chart for the Packers. He has produced some decent numbers in a starting role but nothing off the charts. Expect those numbers to dip even more this season with younger options eating into his playing time.

Team Notes

Feb 04, 01:13 AM Green Bay Packers impending free-agent WR James Jones will be 32 this offseason, and typically general manager Ted Thompson avoids receivers of that advanced age. However, Jones played 1,205 out of 1,316 snaps (91.6 percent) while leading the team in receiving yardage (971) with 17.8 yards per reception. He is also a favorite of QB Aaron Rodgers.
Feb 04, 01:03 AM Green Bay Packers impending free-agent RB James Starks is set to turn 30 later this month. While that is generally an age running backs see a decline, he has plenty of tread on the tires with just 555 carries in six NFL seasons. He might seek a chance at a No. 1 running back job elsewhere.
Feb 04, 01:03 AM Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy was listed at 234 pounds during the season, but beat writer Rob Reischel says it is a good bet Lacy was at least 25 pound heavier than that. During his 61-yard run in the playoff against the Arizona Cardinals he took 12.02 seconds to complete the play.
Feb 04, 01:03 AM Green Bay Packers impending free-agent FB John Kuhn would like to play another year or two. While his blocking has been on the decline, and he is 33 years old, he is a favorite of QB Aaron Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy.
Feb 04, 01:03 AM Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) started to run recently and he is hopeful of being a full participant when training camp begins this summer. 'I think Jordy will come back better than ever,' head coach Mike McCarthy said. 'Just like you knew he would, he's so far ahead with the rehab, he looks great. There's no reason to think he won't be as good as new.'
Feb 04, 01:03 AM Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb was unable to step up and fill the role as No. 1 wideout once WR Jordy Nelson (knee) went down, but part of the reason he saw so much attention was the failure of WR Davante Adams to step up as a secondary receiver.
Feb 04, 01:03 AM Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams was a huge disappointment last season, dropping 12 of his 96 targets, or 12.5 percent. He also averaged just 9.7 yards per reception, and only 3.0 yards after the catch. Beat writer Rob Reischel feels Adams might simply be in a fight for a roster spot in training camp and the preseason.
Feb 04, 01:03 AM Green Bay Packers impending free-agent TE Andrew Quarless is not expected back in 2016.
Feb 03, 03:13 PM Green Bay Packers OG T.J. Lang (shoulders) said he is scheduled for surgery on his right shoulder Wednesday, Feb. 3. It is unknown at this point if he will also have surgery on his left shoulder.
Feb 01, 11:43 AM Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy was advised to lose 30 pounds in the offseason, and he's committed to it.

Fantasy Impact: This isn't a surprise. He needs to get in much better shape if he hopes to play a big role next season.
Jan 30, 12:13 AM Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) had knee surgery following the loss to the Arizona Cardinals in the divisional round of the playoffs, but he said he is 'doing well' and 'recovering on schedule.'

Fantasy Impact: This doesn't seem like a big deal but could explain some of his struggles this year. He should be fine for the start of training camp.
Jan 28, 01:13 PM Green Bay Packers impending free-agent DT B.J. Raji is expected to re-sign with the team in the offseason.
Jan 20, 05:43 PM Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (undisclosed) will not participate in the Pro Bowl due to an undisclosed injury. Rodgers is being replaced by Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr.
Jan 19, 08:53 PM Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson's absence throughout the season gave the Packers a lack of a big target down the field in 2015. Head coach Mike McCarthy lamented that disadvantage. 'You look at the production of Jordy when he went inside? now you're dictating to the defense what coverage they can play to you,' McCarthy said. 'When you don't have that element or the element to complement that, you see what we saw this year.'
Jan 19, 11:53 AM Green Bay Packers impending free-agent RB James Starks wants to find an opportunity to start.
Jan 19, 10:13 AM Green Bay Packers OT David Bakhtiari (ankle) said he has five torn ligaments in his ankle, and three of them were severe tears. He's not expected to need surgery.
