2014 DRAFT GUIDE
Team Grade:
Green Bay Packers
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

Outlook

The Packers had some struggles last season but still made the playoffs. They remain one of the top teams in the league and should improve on last season. The defense made some positive additions and the offense will be as good as ever. Green Bay can finish with double-digit wins and challenge for a spot in the Super Bowl. They have the talent to make a lot of noise in 2014.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Running back Eddie Lacy was good last season but should take his game to a new level this season. He can be an elite back in this league and offense. The Packers are a pass-first team but going to the run more because of Lacy. He'll score double-digit touchdowns in this offense and can get around 1,800 total yards. He is a top three-down back capable of huge things as long as he gets the touches.
FANTASY DUD
Receiver Jarrett Boykin played well in an expanded role last season and will serve as the No. 3 receiver for the Packers to open this season. But he has rookie Davante Adams pushing him for playing time, which isn't a good thing because Adams is more talented than Boykin. And while Boykin played well last season, he was inconsistent at times. He doesn't really wow in any one area, so it might just be a matter of time before he is demoted below Adams.

Team Notes

Sep 17, 05:43 PM Green Bay Packers OT Bryan Bulaga (knee) and DB Micah Hyde (knee) both were limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 17. CB Casey Hayward (glute) and LB Brad Jones (quadriceps) both did not practice. LB Andy Mulumba (knee) did not practice and has been ruled out.
Sep 16, 10:56 PM Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has targeted WR Jordy Nelson 30 times in two games so far this year. Rodgers has never targeted one of his wideouts more than 8.3 times per game in a season.

Fantasy Impact: At this rate, Nelson is going to have a monster season.
Sep 15, 04:52 PM Green Bay Packers FS Micah Hyde (knee) said his knee injury won't be an issue, adding there's a little swelling.
Sep 14, 08:12 PM Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson hauled in nine passes for 209 yards and an 80-yard touchdown in the Week 2 win against the New York Jets.

Fantasy Impact: Nelson is off to a great start this year and seems setup for a huge season.
Sep 14, 03:12 PM The Green Bay Packers have declared LB Carl Bradford, OT Bryan Bulaga, LB Jayrone Elliott, CB Demetri Goodson, WR Jeff Janis, LB Brad Jones, QB Scott Tolzien inactive for Week 2.
Sep 14, 02:42 AM Because Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (head) has suffered two concussions in as many years, he is debating a change to his running style. 'I have to figure out a way to change the way I run but still keep the physical part of it. It's not really something I'm trying to change as of now. I guess as I get older, I'll figure out how it goes,' Lacy said.
Sep 12, 02:22 PM Green Bay Packers LB Brad Jones (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Week 2 against the New York Jets. OT Bryan Bulaga (knee) is questionable, while TE Brandon Bostick (leg) and CB Demetri Goodson (concussion) are probable. Jones did not practice Friday, Sept. 12. Bulaga was limited, while Bostick and Goodson practiced in full.
Sep 12, 01:42 PM Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (concussion) is listed as probable for Week 2 against the New York Jets.

Fantasy Impact: Lacy will be fine to use for Week 2.
Sep 11, 05:32 PM Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (concussion) has been fully cleared and will play in Week 2 against the New York Jets, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. Lacy fully practiced Thursday, Sept. 11. Lacy said he plans to go back to the old helmet he wore last year after trying the new Riddell 'SpeedFlex' helmet in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks. 'Somehow I'll have to figure out a way to change the way I run, but still keep the physical part of it,' Lacy said. 'It's not really something I'm trying to change as of now. I guess as I get older I will figure out how it goes.'
Sep 11, 03:42 PM Green Bay Packers TE Brandon Bostick (fibula) and OT Bryan Bulaga (knee) were both limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 11. CB Demetri Goodson (concussion) fully practiced. LB Brad Jones (quadriceps) did not participate in practice.

Sep 11, 01:13 AM Green Bay Packers LB Jamari Lattimore might make the start in Week 2 against the New York Jets if LB Brad Jones (thigh) is unable to play.
Sep 11, 01:13 AM Green Bay Packers TE Brandon Bostick (leg) practiced Wednesday, Sept. 10, for the first time since fracturing his right fibula in a preseason game Aug. 16. When Bostick does return, he is expected to start on special teams and work up from there.
Sep 11, 01:03 AM Green Bay Packers OT Derek Sherrod would make the start in Week 2 against the New York Jets if OT Bryan Bulaga (knee) is unable to play.
Sep 11, 01:03 AM Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (concussion) is in the final stages of the concussion protocol, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. The final hurdle for Lacy is being cleared by an independent neurologist.
Sep 10, 04:33 PM Green Bay Packers CB Demetri Goodson (concussion) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 10. TE Brandon Bostick (fibula) and OT Bryan Bulaga (knee) were both limited in practice. LB Brad Jones (quadriceps) did not participate in practice.
