|Green Bay Packers |
The Packers remain an elite team. They get it done on both sides of the ball. Green Bay has maybe the most consistent offense in the game and should continue to pile up the points. And don't overlook the defense, which does a good job of causing turnovers and making big plays. Green Bay is a legit Super Bowl contender once again and should make another trip to the playoffs. The pieces are there for this team to have another big season.
Eddie Lacy, RB. Lacy might not get a ton of yards for a starting running back but you have to love his touchdown potential in this offense. He'll get the goal-line work for the Packers and has a good shot to score double-digit touchdowns. The Packers are a pass-first team but will use Lacy to keep defenses honest. We don't see big yardage games in his future but his touchdown chances on a weekly basis should be high.
James Jones, WR. Jones had a breakout year, scoring 14 touchdowns and getting consistent work in the Packers' offense. But don't overlook he caught 64 passes and had fewer than 800 yards. Without all those scores, James has a pretty mediocre season for fantasy purposes. It just seems a stretch to count on Jones scoring that much again. His receptions and yards could go up a little but expect his touchdowns to go down. It is hard to imagine him repeating his prolific scoring season from last year.

||Green Bay Packers PK Mason Crosby has made 5-of-7 attempts from 50 yards and beyond, including two 57-yard field goals this season. Overall, he's converted a career-best 88.2 percent (30-of-34) of his attempts. Earlier this month, Crosby set the NFL record for most points by a player in his first seven seasons, breaking former Indianapolis Colts PK Mike Vanderjagt's mark of 874 points. Crosby now has 887 points. With two games remaining, he is on pace for the third 140-point season of his career. He would join David Akers (2008, 2010-11) and Stephen Gostkowski (2008, 2011-12) as the only players in league history to do so.|

||Despite reports linking his name as a possible candidate for the University of Texas football coaching job, Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy said he would rather stay in Green Bay. The University of Texas, Austin is a great city. My daughter obviously grew up there, but I am proud to be a Green Bay Packer, McCarthy said. It's an honor to hold this position. This is home for me. This is home for my family.|
|Dec 16, 04:22 PM
