2014 DRAFT GUIDE
Team Grade:
Green Bay Packers
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

Outlook

The Packers had some struggles last season but still made the playoffs. They remain one of the top teams in the league and should improve on last season. The defense made some positive additions and the offense will be as good as ever. Green Bay can finish with double-digit wins and challenge for a spot in the Super Bowl. They have the talent to make a lot of noise in 2014.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Running back Eddie Lacy was good last season but should take his game to a new level this season. He can be an elite back in this league and offense. The Packers are a pass-first team but going to the run more because of Lacy. He'll score double-digit touchdowns in this offense and can get around 1,800 total yards. He is a top three-down back capable of huge things as long as he gets the touches.
FANTASY DUD
Receiver Jarrett Boykin played well in an expanded role last season and will serve as the No. 3 receiver for the Packers to open this season. But he has rookie Davante Adams pushing him for playing time, which isn't a good thing because Adams is more talented than Boykin. And while Boykin played well last season, he was inconsistent at times. He doesn't really wow in any one area, so it might just be a matter of time before he is demoted below Adams.

Team Notes

Oct 27, 09:13 AM Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) said he won't miss any time due to the hamstring tweak he suffered Sunday, Oct. 26.
Oct 26, 10:22 PM Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) suffered an apparent left hamstring injury midway through the third quarter of the Week 8 game against the New Orleans Saints on a scramble.
Oct 26, 08:52 PM Green Bay Packers OT T.J. Lang (ankle) left the Week 8 game against the New Orleans Saints in the first quarter due to an ankle injury. OG Lane Taylor replaced him.
Oct 26, 07:32 PM The Green Bay Packers have declared LB Carl Bradford, DL Datone Jones, C Garth Gerhart, WR Jeff Janis, FS Morgan Burnett, CB Sam Shields, QB Scott Tolzien inactive for Week week.
Oct 25, 11:12 PM Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams has two touchdowns in his last three games, and he has been targeted 13 times during the span.
Oct 24, 05:12 PM Green Bay Packers DE Datone Jones (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints. S Morgan Burnett (calf) is questionable, while CB Sam Shields (knee) is doubtful. All three players didn't practice Friday, Oct. 24. However, the Packers didn't practice Friday, so the designations are an estimation.
Oct 24, 05:12 PM Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (ankle) was limited in practice for the second straight day Friday, Oct. 24, but is probable for Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints. The Packers didn't practice Friday, so Starks' designation is an estimation.

Fantasy Impact: Starks looks like he'll be ready to play this week but might not have a huge role in the game.
Oct 23, 09:12 PM Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb said he feels much better about his level of play in recent weeks than he did at the start of the year. 'You just kind of get in a zone,' Cobb said. 'It's like a runner's high, or writing an exam paper and you're on page 7, and the next thing you know you're on page 12. It's just one of those things where you continue to press on, and things happen.'
Oct 23, 04:42 PM Green Bay Packers S Morgan Burnett (calf) and CB Sam Shields (knee) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 23. DE Datone Jones (ankle) was limited.
Oct 23, 04:42 PM Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 23, after not practicing Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Fantasy Impact: Starks has a chance to play this week but if he does, he'll likely be limited in the game.
Oct 23, 02:02 PM Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers had a passer rating of 154.5 against the Carolina Panthers in Week 7, and head coach Mike McCarthy thinks his quarterback is better than he was when he won the Most Valuable Player award in 2011. Rodgers has thrown 18 straight touchdown passes without an interception heading into Week 8. 'Aaron is a much better player today than he was in 2011,' said McCarthy. 'His responsibility level has increased a lot since then. So, what he does during the course of the week, during the course of the game, at the line of scrimmage, the communication between (quarterbacks coach) Alex Van Pelt and myself, he is, in my opinion, watching him grow throughout his career, he's clearly a better player.' Rodgers' streak of 192 pass attempts without an interception is the longest of his career and second best stretch by any Green Bay quarterback since Bart Starr went 294 passes without throwing an interception.
Oct 23, 01:22 PM Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (ankle) is participating in practice Thursday, Oct. 23.

Fantasy Impact: This is a good sign for Starks, so he should be ready to play this week, barring a setback.
Oct 22, 04:33 PM Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 22. Starks injured the ankle in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Impact: Starks is likely to miss the game this week.
Oct 22, 04:33 PM Green Bay Packers DE Datone Jones (ankle), CB Sam Shields (knee) and FS Morgan Burnett (calf) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 22.
Oct 19, 10:23 PM Green Bay Packers CB Davon House (finger) suffered a dislocated finger in the Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers.
Oct 19, 10:23 PM Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (ankle) left the Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers in the third quarter due to an ankle injury and he was unable to return.
