2014 DRAFT GUIDE
Team Grade:
Green Bay Packers
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

Outlook

The Packers had some struggles last season but still made the playoffs. They remain one of the top teams in the league and should improve on last season. The defense made some positive additions and the offense will be as good as ever. Green Bay can finish with double-digit wins and challenge for a spot in the Super Bowl. They have the talent to make a lot of noise in 2014.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Running back Eddie Lacy was good last season but should take his game to a new level this season. He can be an elite back in this league and offense. The Packers are a pass-first team but going to the run more because of Lacy. He'll score double-digit touchdowns in this offense and can get around 1,800 total yards. He is a top three-down back capable of huge things as long as he gets the touches.
FANTASY DUD
Receiver Jarrett Boykin played well in an expanded role last season and will serve as the No. 3 receiver for the Packers to open this season. But he has rookie Davante Adams pushing him for playing time, which isn't a good thing because Adams is more talented than Boykin. And while Boykin played well last season, he was inconsistent at times. He doesn't really wow in any one area, so it might just be a matter of time before he is demoted below Adams.

Team Notes

Oct 02, 09:23 AM Green Bay Packers WR Jarrett Boykin (groin) has a more severe groin injury than originally thought, and he has been ruled out for Week 5. He could also miss the Week 6 game against the Miami Dolphins.
Oct 01, 02:23 PM Green Bay Packers WR Jarrett Boykin (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 1, and has been ruled out for the team's Week 5 game. LB Josh Boyd (hamstring) and DE Josh Boyd (knee) both did not practice and are doubtful. LB Brad Jones was limited in practice and is probable. LB Mike Neal (hip) did not practice and is probable. OG T.J. Lang (not injury related) is probable. LB Clay Matthews (groin) fully practiced and is probable.
Sep 30, 08:33 PM Green Bay Packers RB James Starks did not register a carry in the team's Week 4 game, and head coach Mike McCarthy said that will change going forward. 'James Starks should touch the football every single game,' McCarthy said Tuesday, Sept. 30. 'That will not happen again.'
Sep 30, 05:03 PM Green Bay Packers LB Sam Barrington (hamstring), DT Josh Boyd (knee) and WR Jarrett Boykin (groin) did not practice Tuesday, Sept. 30. LB Brad Jones (quadriceps) was limited, while LB Clay Matthews (groin) practiced in full.
Sep 29, 07:23 PM Green Bay Packers LB Sam Barrington (hamstring), DT Josh Boyd (knee) and WR Jarrett Boykin (groin) did not practice Monday, Sept. 29. LBs Brad Jones (quadriceps) and Clay Matthews (groin) were limited. The team didn't actually practice Monday, so the designations are an estimation.
Sep 28, 02:12 PM Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers DE Josh Boyd (knee) has returned to the game after missing time with a knee injury.
Sep 28, 01:32 PM Green Bay Packers DE Josh Boyd (knee) suffered a knee injury in Week 4, and is considered questionable to return.
Sep 28, 11:42 AM The Green Bay Packers have declared LB Brad Jones, LB Carl Bradford, CB Demetri Goodson, C Garth Gerhart, WR Jarrett Boykin, QB Scott Tolzien inactive for Week 4.
Sep 28, 12:02 AM Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson's 12.3 targets per game are the most in the NFL after three weeks, and WR Randall Cobb ranks second on the team with 7.0 targets per game.
Sep 26, 09:32 PM Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb will be facing the Chicago Bears in Week 4. In his final meeting against the Bears in Week 15 of the 2012 season, he had six grabs for 115 yards. In his only meeting last season against the Bears, he managed two catches for 55 yards, and both grabs went for touchdowns.
Sep 26, 09:22 PM Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson will be facing the Chicago Bears in Week 4. In last season's regular season finale against Chicago, Nelson went for 10 receptions and 161 yards, and he has at least four receptions and 67 yards in the past four meetings with the Bears.
Sep 26, 09:12 PM Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy has faced his team's Week 4 opponent, the Chicago Bears, just twice. He posted a rushing touchdown in each matchup last season, and he ran for 150 yards on 22 carries in the Week 9 matchup against the Packers.

Fantasy Impact: Lacy is going to get things going this week.
Sep 26, 09:12 PM Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers will be facing the Chicago Bears in Week 4, a team he has had success against over the years. Over his past five full games against the Bears, he has tossed two or more touchdowns in four starts, while throwing for 283 or more yards in four of those outings. In Week 9 last season he was injured against Chicago after just two pass attempts.
Sep 26, 04:12 PM Green Bay Packers WR Jarrett Boykin (knee, groin) and LB Brad Jones (quadriceps) are questionable for Week 4 against the Chicago Bears. OT Bryan Bulaga (knee), CB Davon House (knee), LB Clay Matthews (groin) and LB Nick Perry (wrist) are probable. Boykin didn't practice Friday, Sept. 26. Jones, Matthews and Perry were limited, while the others were full participants. The Packers didn't actually practice Friday, and the designations are an estimation.
Sep 25, 05:02 PM Green Bay Packers LBs Brad Jones (quadriceps), Clay Matthews (groin) and Nick Perry (wrist) were limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 25. WR Jarrett Boykin (knee), OT Bryan Bulaga (knee) and CB Davon House (knee) participated fully.
Sep 25, 01:42 PM Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy is off to a slow start this season, and he offered an explanation for his struggles in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions. 'I need to work on keeping my pads low,' Lacy said. 'There were a few times last week where I was running kind of high, and I just figured that out. This week, definitely get my pads down when I'm running.' Even though Lacy had a costly fumble against the Lions early in the game, he's not worried about his ball security. It was his first fumble since his rookie debut in Week 1 last year.
