The Colts are the cream of the crop in their division, so another spot in the playoffs seems likely. This is a team on the rise. The big issue remains the defense, though. Can it do enough to make a run in the playoffs? We aren't so sure. The defense still has some holes and will allow some big games, making for some high-scoring games for the Colts. The offense will once again carry this team and should be one of the best in the league. Indy still seems a few players away from making a Super Bowl run.
Quarterback Andrew Luck still hasn't had that huge season but this looks like the year for Luck to post big numbers. He is another year older and has even more weapons to work with offensively (Hakeem Nicks). The Colts still don't have a great rushing attack, which is another good thing for Luck. This team is going to throw the ball a lot and Luck will benefit from this. We think he has a shot to be a top-five fantasy quarterback. Luck is ready to take his game to a new level.
Receiver Reggie Wayne is returning from his first major injury (torn ACL) and turns 36 during the season this year. You have to wonder how much he has left in the tank. Wayne should see a dip production and likely won't near his huge numbers of past seasons. Don't draft him based on what he has done in the past. Wayne isn't that player anymore. He still might have a few big games in this offense but expect inconsistent production and a downturn in stats.

Team Notes

Jul 23, 11:13 AM Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) said he has been medically cleared to practice. He's expected to be limited, though, especially in the near future.
Jul 23, 09:33 AM Indianapolis Colts RB Vick Ballard (knee) reported to camp and has passed his physical.
Jul 18, 11:02 PM Indianapolis Colts FB Stanley Havili appears to have the edge over FB Mario Harvey for the starting fullback job entering training camp.
Jul 18, 01:42 PM Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) can still play, get open and make a catch, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. Pagano said it will be great to have Wayne back (from injury) not only because of his on-field ability but because of the leadership he brings to the locker room.

Fantasy Impact: We expect a drop off in production this season but he could have a few big games along the way.
Jul 14, 10:03 PM Indianapolis Colts RB Trent Richardson should improve on his 2.9 yards per carry average in 2014, according to Kevin Bowen of Colts.com. Bowen believes Richardson will benefit from playing in the same offensive system for the second year in a row for the first time in his NFL career.
Jul 14, 05:12 PM Free-agent WR LaVon Brazill (Colts) was unclaimed off waivers Monday, July 14. Brazill was released by the Indianapolis Colts after being suspended at least one year for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Jul 12, 12:22 PM Indianapolis Colts RB Trent Richardson will need to produce right away in the running game if he wants to keep the starting job, because the team will not wait for him to turn things around if RB Ahmad Bradshaw or Vick Ballard are playing well.
Jul 11, 03:12 PM The Indianapolis Colts have waived WR LaVon Brazill, who was recently suspended at least one year for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Fantasy Impact: Brazill has a long road back to making it in the NFL.
Jul 11, 01:42 PM Indianapolis Colts RB Trent Richardson has greatly benefitted from extra time spent in the classroom, according to offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton. Hamilton said Richardson will be better this season after facing a tough situation following his trade to Indianapolis.
Jul 10, 07:42 PM Indianapolis Colts LB Bjoern Werner is doing a better job with movement and carrying his weight, according to linebackers coach Jeff FitzGerald. Werner will be asked to do more early on with DE Robert Mathis suspended for the first four games of the season.
Jul 10, 01:32 PM Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen's return will allow the offense be more creative this upcoming season, according to tight ends coach Alfredo Roberts. 'It makes us a better football team,' Roberts said. 'Getting him back is like getting a brand new player. (Allen) gives you a chance to do some other things. His skillset allows us to protect it up, or throw it or run it when we see the advantage. He gives us an advantage because he can do some things in the backfield, do some things in-line where [TE Coby Fleener] we feel like has blossomed as an outside guy. It gives you a little more of a chance to be creative.'

Fantasy Impact: Allen is a guy to watch for fantasy teams. He has some potential in this offense now that he is healthy.
Jul 08, 09:23 PM Indianapolis Colts DE Arthur Jones has earned praise from defensive line coach Gary Emanuel for his versatility and unselfish play. 'He loves to play against the run,' Emanuel said. 'In the defensive line area, you have to be a guy that loves to use up blockers and take on double teams, all those things and that's what Art brings to the table. He brings versatility to the front defensive line, so hopefully he'll make a great addition to our unit.'
Jul 07, 06:02 PM Indianapolis Colts QB Matt Hasselbeck said he is interested in re-signing with Colts after his contract expires.
Jul 07, 09:02 AM Indianapolis Colts OLB Bjoern Werner spent the offseason bulking up with the training staff. He's the leading candidate to fill in of OLB Robert Mathis during his suspension.
Jul 03, 07:22 PM Indianapolis Colts WRs Da'Rick Rogers and Griff Whalen have a better chance to make the final roster if the team decides to keep six receivers on the final roster, because WR LaVon Brazill has been suspended for the 2014 season.
Jul 03, 04:42 PM Indianapolis Colts WR LaVon Brazill has been suspended for at least one year without pay by the NFL for violating the policy and program for substances of abuse.
