Outlook

The Colts were awful last year so they can only go up, right? Well, we expect them better but probably not a whole lot. They have a lot of youth on this team that could struggle at times. The good news is the pieces are in place for this franchise to get turned around at some point. We don't expect that this season but the Colts could win four to six games with the current roster.

FANTASY BREAKOUT

Coby Fleener, TE. Fleener will be the top tight end in an offense that is likely to go to the tight end often. He is a rookie but should be the security blanket for his quarterback, Andrew Luck, who he played with in college. Expect Luck to target Fleener often this season. It wouldn't surprise use to see Fleener emerge as a low-end No. 1 for fantasy teams. There is a good chance he posts big rookie numbers in this offense.

FANTASY DUD

Reggie Wayne, WR. Wayne has to hit the wall sooner or later, right? We think it is likely sooner. His numbers dipped some last year and now he has a rookie throwing him passes in new offense. The Colts could be a little more run heavy than in the past, which could lead to a decrease in targets for Wayne. Plus, Wayne is 33 years old, which is another concern. He has a lot of football under his belt. He won't be the same player as past seasons in 2012.

Team Notes

May 20, 04:33 PM The Tennessee Titans met with free-agent OT Winston Justice (Colts) and OG Antoine Caldwell (Texans) Monday, May 20.
May 17, 05:12 PM Indianapolis Colts DT Josh Chapman (knee) said his knee is completely healthy and will be able to participate in organized team activities next week.
May 16, 11:02 AM The Indianapolis Colts are expected to use their running backs more out of the backfield as receivers under new offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton than they did in 2012 with Bruce Arians calling plays. RB Vick Ballard led all Colts rushers with just 17 catches a year ago.
May 16, 11:01 AM Indianapolis Colts RB Vick Ballard is expected to enter training camp as the team's No. 1 running back, but that doesn't mean RB Donald Brown will not also see playing time. Head coach Chuck Pagano sees Ballard as a player who gets stronger as the game wears on, while Brown is considered more of a home run hitter for the offense. "Can Vick be an every-down guy? Yeah. Can Donnie be an every-down guy? Yeah. They are different types of runners and are more than capable on third down, knowing the protections and picking up blitzers and being effective once they get out to catch the football and doing those things out of the backfield,' Pagano said. "Vick is a solid, solid guy; Donnie is a home run hitter," Pagano said. "If he gets the edge and hits a crease, he can take it the distance.'
May 13, 02:03 PM The San Diego Chargers are schedule to meet with free-agent OT Winston Justice (Colts) Monday, May 13.
May 09, 01:23 PM Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck said he is very comfortable with the offense that offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton is bringing to the team. 'I am 100 percent more comfortable,' Luck said. 'On this day last year, I was probably sitting in class. It is nice to be able to have the full offseason with the team. We have changed (offensive) coordinators, but I have had a great relationship with Pep Hamilton from before. To be around him and talk his style of offense has been great. It is just nice to be around the guys.'
May 08, 02:43 PM The Miami Dolphins made a serious run to sign Indianapolis Colts OT Gosder Cherilus early in free agency, but Cherilus decided to accept the Colts' contract offer.
May 07, 08:13 PM Free-agent OT Winston Justice (Colts) will meet with the Detroit Lions Wednesday, May 8. The Dallas Cowboys have also been in contact with Justice.
May 02, 10:43 AM Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne said he is motivated by the thought of recording a 1,000-yard campaign as a 35-year-old in 2013. The 1,000-yard mark has been reached only 16 times by 12 players 35 years or older. Wayne will turn 35 in November. 'That's what fuels me, motivates me. Not everybody can do that,' Wayne said.
May 01, 04:03 PM Indianapolis Colts LB Kelvin Sheppard said he has a chip on his shoulder from the trade that sent him from the Buffalo Bills to the to the Colts. 'It's definitely a chip on my shoulder and we'll handle that in the fall,' Sheppard said.
May 01, 12:43 PM The Cleveland Browns aren't scheduled to meet with free-agent OT Winston Justice (Colts), as rumored.
Apr 30, 05:43 PM The Miami Dolphins will work out free-agent OT Winston Justice Wednesday, May. 1.
Apr 29, 01:53 PM The Cleveland Browns are scheduled to meet with free-agent OT Winston Justice (Colts) Wednesday, May 1.
Apr 29, 01:43 PM The Pittsburgh Steelers are meeting with free-agent OT Winston Justice (Colts) Monday, April 29.
Apr 29, 01:33 PM The Indianapolis Colts have acquired LB Kelvin Sheppard from the Buffalo Bills for LB Jerry Hughes.

Fantasy Impact: Two players that have underachieved get moved. This is probably good for both of them.
Apr 17, 03:43 PM Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck said he is looking forward to playing in the offense that offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton is bringing to the team. Luck said the Hamilton's offense will incorporate West Coast offensive tendencies with the offense they ran this season.
