Outlook

The Jaguars made strides last season, being competitive in more games, but still lack some talent on both sides of the ball. The defense is getting better but remains a little susceptible to the pass. The offense is the big question mark for the Jaguars. The team still lacks elite talent at receiver and the offensive line is just alright. The running game should be better but a lack of overall talent offensively will hold this team back. The Jaguars seem poised for another season under .500.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Quarterback Blake Bortles had an uneven rookie season. He showed some promise but also turned the ball over a lot more than expected. He made some poor decisions and looked rattled in the pocket at times. But he was a rookie on a bad offensive team, so this shouldnâ??t be a surprise. You have to like his talent, though. Bortles seems to have that â??itâ?? factor and looks poised to take a big step forward this season. The Jags have improving talent at receiver and an elite tight end (Julius Thomas), giving Bortles some good potential for the coming year. Plus, an improved running game should open things up for Bortles. He is ready to take his game up a notch from his rookie year, becoming a fantasy relevant quarterback.
FANTASY DUD
The addition of running back T.J. Yeldon is a blow to the value of Denard Robinson for the coming year. Robinson seemed ready to take another step forward this season, showing good things when getting a chance to start last season. Robinson should move to more of a complimentary role this season, serving more as a change-of-pace or third-down back. Robinson wonâ??t get the touches of last season when in a starting role for the Jaguars. He still has some value in PPR formats but donâ??t expect a breakout season for Robinson.

Team Notes

Jun 29, 04:12 PM Jacksonville Jaguars LB Paul Posluszny (pectoral) is still expected to be a three-down player despite coming off a torn pectoral, according to The Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran.
Jun 29, 02:32 PM Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee is slated to start behind WRs Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns, according to Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times Union.
Jun 29, 02:32 PM Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee is slated to start behind WRs Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns, according to Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times Union.
Jun 24, 10:53 PM Jacksonville Jaguars TE Clay Harbor (calf) missed most of organized team activities (OTAs) due to a calf injury. He is projected to be the front-runner to serve as backup to TE Julius Thomas.
Jun 24, 10:53 PM Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis is in what is expected to be his final season with the team, and with TE Julius Thomas now in the mix Lewis should see time as a blocker and less as a pass catcher.
Jun 24, 10:53 PM Jacksonville Jaguars WR Ace Sanders is a question mark for a spot on the 53-man roster. His spot is likely dependent on his winning the punt return job.
Jun 24, 10:53 PM Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (knee) suffered a knee injury before organized team activities (OTAs), and he will need to catch up to quickly establish a Week 1 role.
Jun 24, 10:43 PM Jacksonville Jaguars RB Bernard Pierce is not projected to make the 53-man roster, according to beat writer Ryan O'Halloran. Pierce is believed to be in the running for the No. 4 job with RBs Storm Johnson and Corey Grant behind RBs T.J. Yeldon, Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson.
Jun 24, 10:43 PM Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson had a chance as an every-down back last season, but with RB T.J. Yeldon in the fold Robinson is only expected to sub in for certain situations. He might also win the kickoff return role, too.
Jun 24, 10:43 PM Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart suffered a Week 1 injury in 2014 to ruin his first chance to be an every-down back. He is likely to see most of his reps as a third-down back in 2015.
Jun 18, 09:32 PM Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles has impressed his coaches with his progression and approach to the game since the end of the 2014 season.
Jun 18, 09:22 PM Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Robinson was described as 'unbelievable' by QB Blake Bortles Thursday, June 18. 'He's definitely a threat now in the red zone. ... He's physical. He can run and do everything out in the open field, so he's been fun to throw to,' said Bortles.

Fantasy Impact: Robinson is a big-time breakout candidate for the coming season. He should lead the Jaguars in targets this year.
Jun 18, 09:22 PM Jacksonville Jaguars TE Clay Harbor (calf) said Thursday, June 18, he expects to be ready for the opening of training camp July 31. Harbor said he could probably play if there was a game this coming Sunday.
Jun 17, 05:33 PM Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Robinson needs to play angrier in his second year, according to head coach Gus Bradley. '[Robinson needs to] play where he is competing to get the ball and competing in all of his routes,' Bradley said. 'We want to be able to throw it up to him and know he's going to come down with the ball.'
Jun 17, 04:53 PM Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles may be throwing deeper this season, according to head coach Gus Bradley. Bradley did say that Bortles hasn't been able to throw deep much during practice so far because of the intensive heat. Bradley added that he wants Bortles to gain more confidence throwing the deep ball.
Jun 17, 12:03 PM Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson (back) left practice Wednesday, June 17, with back tightness.
