Outlook

Miami was a bit of a disappointment last season but still finished .500 despite all sorts of injury issues and inconsistent play defensively. Things are looking up for the squad this year. You still have to wonder if the defense will be good enough in this division, but the offense looks awfully potent for the coming season. The Dolphins are going to put up some points with some upgraded talent in the passing game. Expect the Dolphins to contend for a playoff spot, finishing a few games over the .500 mark.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill finally put it together last season, having a career year and becoming fantasy relevant. More should be expected of him this year with the Dolphins adding more talent at receiver and along the offensive line. Tannehill should be able to improve on his solid numbers from last year. He is going to have some big games in this offense, a pass-friendly offense. Don't be surprised if he doesn't emerge as a solid starter for fantasy teams before the season is out.
FANTASY DUD
Kenny Stills was looking like a good fantasy player for the coming season until the Dolphins used a first-round pick on DeVante Parker. Stills will get his targets in this offense but he isn't going to have that breakout season as many thought he might have with his new team. Stills just won't get enough playing time to produce huge numbers. He'll be hit or miss, being used to stretch the field. It wouldn't surprise to see him finish with similar numbers to his past few seasons with the Saints. He'll have some big games but disappear in others.

May 20, 04:13 PM Miami Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi has been performing well during workouts this offseason and has separated himself from the other running backs on the roster, according head coach Adam Gase. 'He's been one of those guys he's been here every day. He's done everything right. You can tell he's looking to improve. He doesn't say much, just keeps working,' Gase said. 'The rest of that group has done a good job to try and keep up with him, but obviously he's kind of separated himself from that group as far as the consistency of what he does day in and day out.'

Fantasy Impact: He is the favorite to start and could be a real fantasy force his second year in the league.

May 18, 05:43 PM Miami Dolphins OT Laremy Tunsil (ankle) has a pre-arthritic ankle condition that may have contributed to his draft-day fall, according to sources. Some believe the condition may even be worse than Jacksonville Jaguars LB Myles Jack's knee issue.

May 12, 10:03 PM Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake will be used in as many ways as possible as a rookie. 'You look at his career, he's done a little bit of everything,' special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi said. 'He's caught passes. He's run the ball well. He's had high yards per carry. He's caught the ball out of the backfield. He's covered kicks.'

Fantasy Impact: Drake is going to get his touches in this offense. He has some total yardage potential as a rookie.
May 09, 09:23 AM Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill has received instruction from retired QB Peyton Manning this spring. 'It was really cool just to be able to sit and pick his brain about things he's done in this offense and football things in general: snap counts, things you like, the way you want guys to run routes, little details about the game,' Tannehill said. 'We really just got to talk the game, which is something we both love.'

Fantasy Impact: This certainly can't hurt Tannehill. He could come in his most prepared as a pro.
