Outlook

The Eagles are a team on the rise. This team made big strides last season and could be even better this year. The offense could be scary good, especially with reports in the offseason about the team working at an even faster pace this year. The defense also has the pieces in place to do well. The key might be the play of the secondary. If this unit can make strides, it wouldn't surprise to see the Eagles not only win the division title again but also contend for a Super Bowl spot.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Receiver Jeremy Maclin is going to have some big shoes to fill this season, returning from his torn ACL and serving as the No. 1 receiver for the Eagles. We think he'll be up to the task, though. Maclin has never topped 1,000 yards in a season but is primed to do so this season. The Eagles run a ton of plays and Maclin could get the most targets on the team. He has big potential for that breakout season. He really hasn't lived up to expectations to date, posting decent but not great numbers throughout his career.
FANTASY DUD
Receiver Riley Cooper had a career season last year but his overall numbers still weren't great by any means. He failed to top 50 receptions for 900 yards. He was productive but don't overvalue him come draft day. We don't see a big bump in production, especially with DeSean Jackson gone. Jackson did a good job of drawing attention in coverage, making it a bit easier for Cooper to get open.

Team Notes

Aug 19, 09:16 AM Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (foot) is practicing again Monday, Aug. 18. Cooper's rapport with Nick Foles last season vaulted him into WR3 status. Jeremy Maclin's return and the emergence of Zach Ertz may temper his targets a bit, though.
Aug 18, 02:12 PM Philadelphia Eagles WR Josh Huff (shoulder) did not participate in practice Monday, Aug. 18, and there is no timetable for his return. Head coach Chip Kelly said X-rays on Huff's shoulder were negative.
Aug 18, 02:12 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB Chris Polk (hamstring), LB Jake Knott (hamstring) and CB Jaylen Watkins (hamstring) did not participate during the media-access portion of practice Monday, Aug. 18.
Aug 18, 02:03 PM Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin (hamstring) participated in practice Monday, Aug. 18, after missing the second preseason game with a hamstring injury. He is expected to play in the third preseason game.
Aug 18, 02:03 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (toe) participated in practice Monday, Aug. 18. McCoy said he suffered a toe injury during practice last week but underwent an MRI and everything is fine. He plans on playing in the third preseason game but does not think he will need many reps.
Aug 18, 01:53 PM Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (ankle) participated in practice Monday, Aug. 18, for the second consecutive day. Cooper is expected to play in the third preseason game.
Aug 18, 12:02 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB Chris Polk (hamstring) and WR Brad Smith (undisclosed) are out of practice Monday, Aug. 18.
Aug 18, 11:22 AM Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (undisclosed) was out of practice Sunday, Aug. 17, due to a physical ailment, but nothing serious, according to offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur.
Aug 18, 10:17 AM Despite missing a 47-yard field goal in his last exhibition game, Philadelphia Eagles PK Alex Henery is in no danger of losing his job, according to coach Chip Kelly.
Aug 18, 08:43 AM Philadelphia Eagles LB Bryan Braman (back) and LB Jake Knott (hamstring) did not practice Sunday, Aug. 17. CB Cary Williams (hamstring), RB Matthew Tucker (hamstring) and RB David Fluellen (calf) returned to practice.
Aug 18, 02:42 AM Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly has told reporters he would be open to trade offers for QB Mark Sanchez, presumably to let Sanchez have a chance at the No. 1 job with another team. Kelly also added that does not mean Sanchez will be dealt, as they need his depth-chart experience behind QB Nick Foles, but the team is always looking to improve.
Aug 17, 03:22 PM Philadelphia Eagles CB Nolan Carroll (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Sunday, Aug. 17, and hopes to play in the preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday, Aug. 21.
Aug 17, 03:02 PM Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (foot) will play in the team's next preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday, Aug. 21, after he was able to complete a full practice Sunday, Aug. 17.
Aug 17, 12:02 PM Philadelphia Eagles CB Jaylen Watkins (hamstring) is not participating in practice Sunday, Aug. 17.
Aug 17, 11:52 AM Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (undisclosed) is not participating in practice Sunday, Aug. 17.
Aug 17, 11:52 AM Philadelphia Eagles LB Bryan Braman (back) hurt his back during stretches Friday, Aug. 15, and did not play in the team's preseason game.
