Outlook

The Eagles are a team on the rise. This team made big strides last season and could be even better this year. The offense could be scary good, especially with reports in the offseason about the team working at an even faster pace this year. The defense also has the pieces in place to do well. The key might be the play of the secondary. If this unit can make strides, it wouldn't surprise to see the Eagles not only win the division title again but also contend for a Super Bowl spot.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Receiver Jeremy Maclin is going to have some big shoes to fill this season, returning from his torn ACL and serving as the No. 1 receiver for the Eagles. We think he'll be up to the task, though. Maclin has never topped 1,000 yards in a season but is primed to do so this season. The Eagles run a ton of plays and Maclin could get the most targets on the team. He has big potential for that breakout season. He really hasn't lived up to expectations to date, posting decent but not great numbers throughout his career.
FANTASY DUD
Receiver Riley Cooper had a career season last year but his overall numbers still weren't great by any means. He failed to top 50 receptions for 900 yards. He was productive but don't overvalue him come draft day. We don't see a big bump in production, especially with DeSean Jackson gone. Jackson did a good job of drawing attention in coverage, making it a bit easier for Cooper to get open.

Team Notes

Dec 18, 01:32 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB Chris Polk appears to have become the team's goal-line back of late, and two of the three snaps he played in Week 15 led to short rushing touchdowns. On another snap inside the five-yard line, RB Darren Sproles took the ball for a TD. The Eagles have struggled in the red zone this year, and they think Polk's size and power gives him an advantage at the goal line. Some of the short-yardage stuff, Polk's obviously a little bit more powerful back, so they've been giving him some of the runs in short-yardage in a couple games, especially last game, RB LeSean McCoy said. McCoy has 10 carries inside the five-yard line this year and has three touchdowns.

Fantasy Impact: This is a bit of a concern for fantasy teams, getting fewer goal-line chances, but you still have to like his value in this offense.

Fantasy Impact: Polk has some value in this role but will be very hit or miss for fantasy teams. He just doesn't get enough work.

Dec 18, 01:03 AM Philadelphia Eagles RB Chris Polk opened practice Wednesday, Dec. 17, running with the first-team offense while RB LeSean McCoy looked on from the sideline.
Dec 18, 01:03 AM Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy opened practice on the sidelines Wednesday, Dec. 17, while RB Chris Polk opened with first-team reps. After practice McCoy did not seem too concerned. 'We rotate all the time,' McCoy said. '(Running backs coach Duce Staley) pulled me out. (RB Darren Sproles) wasn't in either.' Shady played a season-low 34 of 55 offensive snaps in Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys, his fewest in two seasons under head coach Chip Kelly.

Fantasy Impact: We wouldn't look too much into this. McCoy remains the top back in this offense and should get most of the carries for the team.
