The Eagles are a team on the rise. This team made big strides last season and could be even better this year. The offense could be scary good, especially with reports in the offseason about the team working at an even faster pace this year. The defense also has the pieces in place to do well. The key might be the play of the secondary. If this unit can make strides, it wouldn't surprise to see the Eagles not only win the division title again but also contend for a Super Bowl spot.
Receiver Jeremy Maclin is going to have some big shoes to fill this season, returning from his torn ACL and serving as the No. 1 receiver for the Eagles. We think he'll be up to the task, though. Maclin has never topped 1,000 yards in a season but is primed to do so this season. The Eagles run a ton of plays and Maclin could get the most targets on the team. He has big potential for that breakout season. He really hasn't lived up to expectations to date, posting decent but not great numbers throughout his career.
Receiver Riley Cooper had a career season last year but his overall numbers still weren't great by any means. He failed to top 50 receptions for 900 yards. He was productive but don't overvalue him come draft day. We don't see a big bump in production, especially with DeSean Jackson gone. Jackson did a good job of drawing attention in coverage, making it a bit easier for Cooper to get open.

Team Notes

Jul 28, 06:12 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB Chris Polk (undisclosed) and OG Julian Vandervelde (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Monday, July 28.
Jul 28, 12:42 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy and LB Trent Cole squared off in a fight during training camp Sunday, July 27. 'Next thing you know, they're on the ground scuffling,' LB Brandon Graham said. 'It was just a friendly thing, you know. They're always competing and talking stuff to each other. It was just one of those things.' The fight was broken up before any damage was done.
Jul 27, 10:22 PM Philadelphia Eagles QB G.J. Kinne could push QB Matt Barkley for the No. 3 quarterback job, because he has thrown the ball well during training camp.
Jul 27, 10:12 PM Philadelphia Eagles CB Nolan Carroll received some snaps with the first-team defense during practice Sunday, July 27.
Jul 26, 09:22 PM Philadelphia Eagles OT Allen Barbre worked with the first-team offense at right tackle during practice Saturday, July 26.
Jul 26, 09:22 PM Philadelphia Eagles QB Mark Sanchez worked as the No. 2 quarterback during practice Saturday, July 26.
Jul 24, 10:53 AM Philadelphia Eagles OG Evan Mathis has reported to camp and will not hold out.
Jul 23, 02:43 PM Philadelphia Eagles OT Lane Johnson has been suspended four games by the NFL for violating the policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Jul 22, 11:13 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles' ability to win one-on-one matchups in space is what head coach Chip Kelly plans to exploit this season. Kelly said opposing defenses played a lot of man-to-man coverage against his offense last year, and his goal was to find a way to exploit the coverage this year.

Fantasy Impact: Sproles should play a decent role in this offense but don't expect a ton of touches with some good backs to compete with for playing time.
Jul 21, 03:12 PM Former Philadelphia Eagles DE Phillip Hunt (knee) has recovered from anterior cruciate ligament surgery and should begin workouts with teams in the near future.
Jul 17, 12:32 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy is unlikely to be in line for a smaller workload this year after leading the league in carries (314) and touches (366) last year. There were no signs that McCoy's production suffered because of his heavy workload in 2013, and he often mentions that his running style helps him take fewer big hits.
Jul 17, 12:32 PM Philadelphia Eagles RBs Matthew Tucker, Henry Josey and David Fluellen will battle it out in training camp and the preseason for the fourth running back spot. Tucker earned praise from head coach Chip Kelly earlier in the offseason. The Eagles are more likely to keep four running backs on roster this year given that RB Darren Sproles is 31 years old.
Jul 17, 12:22 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles is a running back and not a wide receiver, the team continues to emphasize. The team's brass has bristled at the notion that Sproles will only help in the passing game. However, Sproles averaged 3.5 and 3.7 rushing attempts per game the last two years and caught 146 passes during that span, meaning he's likely to be a much bigger factor in the passing game in head coach Chip Kelly's offense.
Jul 16, 02:43 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy said he has been impressed with RB Darren Sproles and expects Sproles to help the offense. 'Sproles has the quickest feet I've ever seen out of any player,' McCoy said. 'He'll help us out tremendously. I think the best thing about him, what he brings to this team is not only leadership and experience, but also just another big playmaker on the team.'
Jul 15, 05:13 PM Philadelphia Eagles LB Trent Cole said earlier this week he feels good and believes he has at least three years left in the tank. With his experience, Cole said he knows how to rush the passer the right way and knows more about the game in general.
Jul 14, 10:33 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB Chris Polk should serve as RB LeSean McCoy's primary backup this year with RB Darren Sproles maintaining a secondary role in the offense, according to ESPN.com's Joe Kaiser.
