Outlook

The Eagles are a team on the rise. This team made big strides last season and could be even better this year. The offense could be scary good, especially with reports in the offseason about the team working at an even faster pace this year. The defense also has the pieces in place to do well. The key might be the play of the secondary. If this unit can make strides, it wouldn't surprise to see the Eagles not only win the division title again but also contend for a Super Bowl spot.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Receiver Jeremy Maclin is going to have some big shoes to fill this season, returning from his torn ACL and serving as the No. 1 receiver for the Eagles. We think he'll be up to the task, though. Maclin has never topped 1,000 yards in a season but is primed to do so this season. The Eagles run a ton of plays and Maclin could get the most targets on the team. He has big potential for that breakout season. He really hasn't lived up to expectations to date, posting decent but not great numbers throughout his career.
FANTASY DUD
Receiver Riley Cooper had a career season last year but his overall numbers still weren't great by any means. He failed to top 50 receptions for 900 yards. He was productive but don't overvalue him come draft day. We don't see a big bump in production, especially with DeSean Jackson gone. Jackson did a good job of drawing attention in coverage, making it a bit easier for Cooper to get open.

Team Notes

Mar 25, 04:53 PM Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford was valued high by head coach Chip Kelly and owner Jeffrey Lurie before they traded for him this offseason. Lurie said this week that the Eagles evaluated Bradford as 'the best young quarterback we'd seen? probably since Peyton Manning coming out of college' leading up to the 2010 NFL Draft. Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, who worked with Bradford while with the St. Louis Rams, was maybe the strongest advocate of Bradford before the trade went down.
Mar 25, 10:03 AM The Philadelphia Eagles traded RB LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills because head coach Chip Kelly desires a one-cut running back, according to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie. Lurie praised McCoy as a player, but the move was not financially driven. Kelly felt he could garner more production from a different running back or two. Lurie used the term 'power spread' on multiple occasions to describe Kelly's offense. RBs DeMarco Murray, Darren Sproles and Ryan Mathews figure to share the work.

Mar 24, 12:02 AM The Philadelphia Eagles might release OG Evan Mathis if they cannot find a trade partner, according to a source close to the situation.
Mar 18, 07:23 PM Philadelphia Eagles LB Connor Barwin reworked his 2015 deal Wednesday, March 18. His 2015 salary ($6.4 million) is now guaranteed, and he'll make $3 million in 2016.
Mar 18, 02:43 AM Philadelphia Eagles LB Bryan Braman has restructured his contract. Braman reduced his base salary from $1.2 million to $745,000. In exchange, the team extended his contract for an additional year and will pay him $900,000 in 2016.
Mar 17, 07:43 AM Philadelphia Eagles QB Matt Barkley is on the trading block, according to those close to the team. The Eagles will likely go with a combination of QB Sam Bradford and QB Mark Sanchez.
Mar 16, 05:43 PM Philadelphia Eagles WRs Jordan Matthews and Josh Huff will forcibly have increased roles in 2015 with the departure of WR Jeremy Maclin to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Philadelphia staff is reportedly confident enough in the development of the two receivers, as well as second-year TE Zach Ertz.

Mar 16, 03:23 PM Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford is still the subject of trade speculation as coaches attending the West Virginia University Pro Day posited that Bradford could be traded to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for the second overall pick in the NFL Draft this year.
Mar 16, 10:03 AM Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford had an offer made for him by the Cleveland Browns, and a first-round pick was believed to be offered, according to NFL Network's Charley Casserly.
Mar 12, 07:23 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB DeMarco Murray's five-year deal is official. The deal is worth $42 million with $21 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Impact: His fantasy value takes a hit, having to share some work with Ryan Mathews. But you still have to like him as a low-end No. 1 back. He'll produce in this offense.
Mar 12, 04:53 PM Free-agent RB Ryan Mathews (Chargers) will indeed sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a source.

Fantasy Impact: This isn't great for his fantasy value, having to play second fiddle to DeMarco Murray.
Mar 12, 02:23 PM Philadelphia Eagles OG Evan Mathis may be traded, as the team is working to move him according to league sources.
Mar 12, 01:53 PM Updating a previous report, free-agent RB DeMarco Murray (Cowboys) is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles that will pay $42 million with $21 million guaranteed.
