The Eagles are a team on the rise. This team made big strides last season and could be even better this year. The offense could be scary good, especially with reports in the offseason about the team working at an even faster pace this year. The defense also has the pieces in place to do well. The key might be the play of the secondary. If this unit can make strides, it wouldn't surprise to see the Eagles not only win the division title again but also contend for a Super Bowl spot.
Receiver Jeremy Maclin is going to have some big shoes to fill this season, returning from his torn ACL and serving as the No. 1 receiver for the Eagles. We think he'll be up to the task, though. Maclin has never topped 1,000 yards in a season but is primed to do so this season. The Eagles run a ton of plays and Maclin could get the most targets on the team. He has big potential for that breakout season. He really hasn't lived up to expectations to date, posting decent but not great numbers throughout his career.
Receiver Riley Cooper had a career season last year but his overall numbers still weren't great by any means. He failed to top 50 receptions for 900 yards. He was productive but don't overvalue him come draft day. We don't see a big bump in production, especially with DeSean Jackson gone. Jackson did a good job of drawing attention in coverage, making it a bit easier for Cooper to get open.

Team Notes

Oct 14, 06:03 PM The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed OG Julian Vandervelde Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Oct 14, 06:03 PM Philadelphia Eagles OG Wade Smith was released Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Oct 13, 02:23 PM Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (knee) could miss one to two weeks because of his sprained medial collateral ligament, according to head coach Chip Kelly. Kelly said Sproles will receive treatment, and the team will reevaluate him after the bye week.

Fantasy Impact: Looks like he avoided the worst. He should be fine in a few weeks, which is good news for the Eagles and fantasy teams.
Oct 13, 01:33 PM Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (knee) likely will miss one game because of a sprained medial collateral ligament. The team is on bye this week, which should help his rehab.
Oct 13, 12:43 PM Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles leads the league with 10 turnovers this year (seven interceptions and three fumbles). Last season, he had 29 touchdown passes, including the playoffs, and just two interceptions.

Fantasy Impact: Foles is making some bad mistakes. His team is winning for the most part, though, so he'll continue to start for now.
Oct 13, 11:43 AM Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (knee) is believed to have avoided an anterior cruciate ligament tear. However, he's expected to miss a few weeks due to the knee injury.
Oct 12, 11:43 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy carried 22 times for a season-high 149 yards in Week 6 against the New York Giants, although he was held out of the end zone again. He also chipped in with two receptions for five yards.

Fantasy Impact: McCoy had his best game of the season. Hopefully, this is a game that gets him going.
Oct 12, 11:03 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (knee) had the stability of his left medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligament tested by a team orthopedist, and sideline reporter Michele Tafoya said 'whatever news he delivered' to Sproles reportedly made him 'unhappy.'

Fantasy Impact: Not good. We'll keep you posted. This could be a bad injury.
Oct 12, 11:03 PM Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin was used on punt returns in the second half of the Week 6 game against the New York Giants following the departure of RB Darren Sproles (knee) to injury.
Oct 12, 11:03 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles (knee) left the Week 6 game against the New York Giants late in the third quarter due to an apparent left knee injury. He was able to walk off under his own power to the locker room.
Oct 12, 09:53 PM Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper (arm, hand) suffered an apparent left arm or hand injury in the second quarter of the Week 6 game against the New York Giants and was in obvious pain on the sidelines. However, he was able to check back in after missing a few plays.

Oct 10, 02:32 PM Philadelphia Eagles C Jason Kelce (hernia), LB Mychal Kendricks (calf), RB Chris Polk (hamstring) and WR Brad Smith (groin) have been ruled out for Week 6 against the New York Giants. LB DeMeco Ryans (groin) is questionable, while LB Connor Barwin (knee), CB Brandon Boykin (hamstring), TE Trey Burton (Achilles'), CB Nolan Carroll (hamstring), WR Josh Huff (shoulder) and OT Matt Tobin (ankle) are probable. Kendricks and Polk did not practice Friday, Oct. 10. Ryans was limited, while the others practiced in full.
Oct 10, 10:52 AM Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy said he needs to break more tackles and felt like he was taken down by a lot of desperation tackles in Week 5. 'There's still stuff that we need to do to get better with it, and I think it starts with me,' McCoy said. 'I need to break more tackles. I feel like last game was too many save tackles, like a guy just gets my leg, stuff like that.'
Oct 09, 03:53 PM Philadelphia Eagles RB Chris Polk (hamstring), WR Brad Smith (groin), C Jason Kelce (hernia) and LB Mychal Kendricks (calf) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 9. LB DeMeco Ryans (groin) was limited during practice, while WR Josh Huff (shoulder), TE Trey Burton (Achilles'), OT Matt Tobin (ankle), LB Connor Barwin (knee), CB Brandon Boykin (hamstring) and CB Nolan Carroll (hamstring) fully participated in practice.
