Team Grade:
Seattle Seahawks
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

The Seahawks lost some defensive players but gained maybe the best tight end in the game, trading for Jimmy Graham. He gives the offense a new dimension, which should be a benefit for all involved. You have to worry about the defense slipping a little but this unit remains a top-five squad. The Seahawks are one of the best teams in football and will be a tough out during the regular season and the playoffs. It wouldn‚??t surprise to see this team make yet another trip to the Super Bowl. The talent is certainly there for good things from this unit.
Receiver Jermaine Kearse showed some good things last year, especially in the playoffs. He scored two touchdowns in three playoff games after having just one score during the regular season. Kearse has emerged as the starter for the Seahawks and one of the top big-play threats on the team. He should get more consistent work from day one this year and could challenge a 1,000-yard season. The addition of Jimmy Graham should give Kearse more room to run in the secondary.
You have to figure running back Marshawn Lynch will hit the wall sooner than later. He won‚??t be awful this year but don‚??t be surprised if his stats finally start to decline some. He keeps himself in great shape but has a lot of touches the last few seasons and battled some nagging injuries during that stretch. It just seems a stretch to think Lynch can continue to play at the level of the past few seasons. He has to start to decline at some point, right?

Team Notes

Jul 30, 02:02 PM Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is talking with the Seahawks about a contract extension, but the two sides may not reach an agreement before the start of training camp, according to sources. The two sides do not appear to be in agreement about the amount of money up front or the guaranteed money.
Jul 27, 03:52 PM Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and his representatives have issues with the guaranteed money involved in his current offer. Still, Wilson hasn't turned the deal down yet. If both sides don't agree to a new deal soon, Wilson and the Seahawks will have to wait until after the season to try to get a deal done.
Jul 25, 03:52 PM Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has supposedly been offered a contract extension that would pay him about $21 million per year. The deal would also include a significant amount of guaranteed money. If Wilson does not agree to a deal before training camp or the regular season starts, he could very well be given the franchise tag after this season.
Jul 23, 09:32 PM Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner could agree to a long-term deal by the start of training camp, and the team's focus on Wagner's deal could be a sign of little progress with the negotiations for QB Russell Wilson, according to NFL Network's Rand Getlin.
Jul 23, 12:32 PM Seattle Seahawks FS Earl Thomas (shoulder) isn't expected to be cleared for training camp, and his status is questionable for Week 1.
Jul 21, 07:02 PM Seattle Seahawks OT Russell Okung will not be represented by an agent when he enters the free-agent market following this season.
Jul 16, 05:22 PM Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has not yet entered free agency, but he does want to be paid like that is the case. He also wants a fully guaranteed contract. If a deal does not get done by the time training camp starts, Wilson could very likely be given the franchise tag next season that will be worth at least $25 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Jul 16, 05:22 PM Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and the organization are still not close in their negotiations on an extension. Negotiations should increase leading up to training camp, but are expected to cease once training camp commences.
Jul 16, 01:32 PM Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has been having contract extension talks with the Seahawks since the beginning of the offseason, but the talks likely will stop once training camp begins.
Jul 15, 09:03 PM Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson reiterated Wednesday, July 15, he's not worried about his looming contract issue. 'I love Seattle, it's a great city,' Wilson continued. 'I'm going to play my butt off every day. That's all I know, and we'll see what happens.' Wilson's rookie contract expires at the end of the 2015 season.
Jul 14, 03:53 PM Seattle Seahawks WR Paul Richardson (knee) could return early in training camp, but is most likely to have a delayed return, according to head coach Pete Carroll, as he continues to recover from a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Jul 14, 12:33 PM Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham will be used all over the field with Seattle like he was in New Orleans. 'Yeah, we do that with a lot of our guys. We like to formation and move guys around for different reasons, and Jimmy will be definitely in that mix,' offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said. 'It's just another great playmaker. He can stretch the field, catch the ball, big target in the red zone, which will be huge for us. That may be one of the biggest things, just the size we have down there when things start to get tight.'
Jul 11, 11:53 PM Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch has scored at least 12 touchdowns in four straight seasons, including a career-high 17 last year.
Jul 06, 02:53 PM Seattle Seahawks RB Robert Turbin (hip) may not be ready to play Week 1 as he continues to recover from hip surgery this offseason.
Jul 03, 05:23 PM Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson said he would consider playing professional baseball in addition to professional football if he were traded to the Seattle Mariners.
