Outlook

The Seahawks are one of the favorites to make the Super Bowl out of the NFC. Their defense might be the best in the game right now and the offense does good things for this team to win a lot of games. Seattle will challenge for that spot in the Super Bowl and have the talent to win it all. The only concern might be the offense, which lacks some playmakers in the passing game. Quarterback Russell Wilson might be a top receiver or two short of giving this team a special offense.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
He looked great in the preseason last year and is having a great offseason this year, so things are really looking up for second-year running back Christine Michael. He is going to get work in this offense and could move into more a timeshare with starter Marshawn Lynch. Lynch isn't getting any younger and has a lot of carries under his belt. Michael is the future at the position and should start to get his chances this season. He can be a difference maker for this offense because of his big-play potential.
FANTASY DUD
We don't think he'll be a total flop but Marshawn Lynch might have a hard time living up to his first-round draft status. As mentioned, Lynch is getting older (nearing 30 years old) and has a lot of carries under his belt the last few seasons. Plus, his running style can be a bit taxing, which is another concern. This season could be the start of a downward trend for Lynch. His best days are likely behind him.

Team Notes

Jul 21, 10:33 PM Seattle Seahawks FB Spencer Ware's DUI case was dismissed Monday, July 21, according to the King County prosecutor's office.
Jul 21, 11:05 AM Seattle Seahawks RB Christine Michael's work this spring has done nothing to dismiss the thought that he will receive regular carries this season. It's still not known how many he'll receive, but Marshawn Lynch remains the lead back. Lynch is a low-end RB1, and Michael is a RB4 with upside.

Fantasy Impact: Michael is going to get more touches in this offense and seems the future at the position for the Seahawks.
Jul 20, 05:02 PM Seattle Seahawks OT Michael Bowie has had an uneven spring with coaches saying he could have been in better shape. He'll compete with OT Justin Britt at right tackle.
Jul 20, 04:52 PM Seattle Seahawks DT Jordan Hill, DT Jesse Williams and CB Tharold Simon will take on larger roles in their second season in 2014. Hill could be a potential starter in nickel packages.
Jul 20, 04:52 PM Seattle Seahawks TE Luke Willson will be TE Zach Miller's backup this season, but he's likely to see increased playing time.
Jul 19, 07:32 PM Seattle Seahawks SS Jeron Johnson probably will be the primary backup at free safety and strong safety this upcoming season.
Jul 19, 07:32 PM Seattle Seahawks CB Jeremy Lane is expected to be the team's nickel back this upcoming season.
Jul 19, 07:22 PM Seattle QBs Terrelle Pryor and B.J. Daniels will compete for the No. 3 quarterback job during training camp. Pryor is expected to have the edge because of his size and speed.
Jul 17, 10:12 AM Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch, who averaged 18.8 carries game last season, is expected to be scaled back some this year. However, he's still expected to receive 15 or 16 carries per game with RB Christine Michael filling in at times.

Fantasy Impact: Lynch still has plenty of value in this offense but could see his production dip some this coming season.
Jul 15, 06:33 PM Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner said Tuesday, July 15 he thinks the team has gotten way better this year, mainly because of how young they are.
Jul 15, 04:33 PM Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner said he thought the Denver Broncos were intimidated of the team's defense during the Super Bowl. 'They looked scared out there,' Wagner said of the Broncos. 'Nobody wanted to catch the ball. Nobody wanted to come up the middle,' Wagner said.
Jul 14, 05:12 PM Seattle Seahawks FS Earl Thomas is considered the leading candidate for the punt return job, but WR Doug Baldwin, WR Paul Richardson, WR Bryan Walters and CB Richard Sherman may also compete for the job during training camp.
Jul 14, 05:03 PM Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin said this offseason that he is open to competing for the punt return job even though he does not have much experience in the role. Harvin is expected to be the team's main kick returner.
Jul 14, 08:32 AM Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin is penciled in to return kickoffs.
Jul 12, 07:02 PM Seattle Seahawks LB Bruce Irvin (hip) said his surgically repaired hip feels 100 times better. Irvin has been rehabbing his hip since undergoing surgery earlier this offseason.
Jun 30, 09:12 AM Seattle Seahawks DT Jesse Williams dropped about 20 pounds to 312 pounds and is playing without pain in his knees this season. He's battling for a backup position.
