Team Grade:
San Francisco 49ers
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

San Francisco has one of the best teams in all of football. Their defense is top five and the offense is getting better and better. They are the complete package. The defense can win games all by themselves. And the offense this season could be good enough to win some games if the defense has some stumbles. For us, the 49ers are the favorite to win the NFC and make another appearance in the Super Bowl.
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick didn't quite live up to the hype last season but did some good things along the way. He is setup for much better things this season. He can take his game to a new level, getting some weapons back healthy and some more options in the passing game to help elevate his game. Kaepernick has the skillset and surrounding talent to be a top fantasy quarterback. Plus, he should get plenty of chances offensively because the 49ers' defense will shut down plenty of opponents.
Running back Frank Gore is another aging back that probably has played his best years. He remains the starter but has plenty of young talent pushing him for playing time. He still has touchdown and some yardage potential but his touches should be down compared to past years. It wouldn't even be a shock if Gore lost his starting job before the end of the season. There are a lot of top, young backs on this roster that are the future at the position for the 49ers.

Team Notes

Jul 24, 01:13 AM San Francisco 49ers LB Aldon Smith is expected to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in the near future, which likely would lead to a decision on any discipline for Smith.
Jul 23, 07:03 PM San Francisco 49ers TE Garrett Celek (undisclosed) will start training camp on the team's Physically Unable to Perform list for undisclosed reasons.
Jul 23, 05:03 PM San Francisco 49ers WR Stevie Johnson (hamstring) passed his physical and has been cleared to practice Thursday, July 23.
Jul 23, 04:43 PM San Francisco 49ers DE Justin Smith (shoulder) said he is fully healthy entering training camp after offseason shoulder surgery.
Jul 23, 12:13 PM San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis has reported to camp Wednesday, July 23, according to an Instagram post from 49ers S C.J. Spillman.
Jul 23, 01:13 AM San Francisco 49ers CB Tramaine Brock is considered a leading candidate to start this season at cornerback.
Jul 23, 01:13 AM San Francisco 49ers CB Chris Culliver (knee) has been cleared to take part in practice when training camp opens this week. He suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament to his left knee during training camp last summer. He is a front-runner to win a starting job this season.
Jul 22, 11:23 PM San Francisco 49ers WR Stevie Johnson is the frontrunner for the No. 3 WR job, according to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, but he added that neither Johnson nor WR Brandon Lloyd is a lock to make the roster. Maiocco believes that Johnson's salary and the fact that Lloyd doesn't contribute on special teams would make them expendable if a younger receiver proves capable of filling the No. 3 WR role.
Jul 22, 07:33 PM San Francisco 49ers RB Marcus Lattimore (knee) may be on the practice field sooner rather than later, according to a source. The team is being cautious with Lattimore, but he is reportedly fine.
Jul 22, 02:03 PM Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton should be signed to a contract that mirrors the deal signed by San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, in the opinion of owner Mike Brown.
Jul 22, 12:13 AM San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) will likely return to action in Week 9 after the team's Week 8 bye, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
Jul 21, 01:22 PM San Francisco 49ers TEs Derek Carrier and Garrett Celek will compete for the No. 3 tight end spot during training camp.
Jul 21, 11:46 AM San Francisco 49ers RB LaMichael James could have trouble making the roster this year, according to ESPN.com's Bill Williamson. Williamson believes RB Frank Gore, RB Carlos Hyde, RB Marcus Lattimore, RB Kendall Hunter and FB Bruce Miller will make the roster.
Jul 19, 12:02 PM San Francisco 49ers RB LaMichael James will be entering training camp as the leading candidate for the kick and punt return jobs. WR Bruce Ellington, WR Devon Wylie, WR Quinton Patton and CB Perrish Cox are expected to compete with James for the jobs.
Jul 19, 11:12 AM San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman (knee) will be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list when he reports to training camp. Bowman is expected to start the regular season on the PUP list.
Jul 19, 11:12 AM San Francisco 49ers LB Aaron Lynch (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list during the early part of camp. He was placed on the PUP list because of a hamstring injury he suffered before the June minicamp.
