2015 DRAFT GUIDE
Team Grade:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

Outlook

The Bucs are an intriguing team this year. The offense is getting better and better, but much will depend on the development of quarterback Jameis Winston. If the rookie can play pretty mistake-free football, the Bucs could surprise and land a playoff spot. The defense is making strides and the offense has two of the best receivers in the game. Tampa is a team on the rise. A season around .500 seems likely but donā??t be surprised if the Bucs are a little better than that if Winston has a solid rookie season.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
He didnā??t have quite the rookie season as expected but tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins should be a bigger part of the offense from day one. He is a talented pass catcher that could have more room to run this year with Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans attracting much of the coverage on the outside. Plus, rookie quarterbacks tend to make the easy pass if given the chance, which could lead to more targets for Seferian-Jenkings. He can take his game to a new level this year and become a low-end No. 1 for fantasy teams.
FANTASY DUD
Running back Doug Martin might be atop the depth chart right now but donā??t expect that to last for long. He has been given plenty of chances the last few seasons but done little with them. It is only a matter of time before the Bucs move on from Martin. Expect Charles Sims to take over the starting duties for the Bucs before the season is out. He is the younger back with more potential going forward.

Team Notes

Jun 29, 10:02 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is expected to play more on an island in 2015 as the 'X' receiver in Tampa Bay's new offense, which is the same role offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter created for Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones during Koetter's time with that organization. He said Monday, June 29, that the QB carousell of Josh McCown and Mike Glennon last year held him back, too, so he is excited about a potential breakout with QB Jameis Winston.
Jun 23, 05:53 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans said he worked out with former NFL WR Randy Moss for a week this offseason.
Jun 21, 02:42 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson could line up in the slot at times this season.
Jun 20, 03:02 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins could be used more this year in new offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter's system. ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas believes Seferian-Jenkins will be a big part of the offense in 2015.
Jun 16, 09:03 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans said he's being used exclusively as an 'X' wide receiver. Evans was used as the 'Z' receiver as a rookie, but he said he likes the move and 'being on an island.'
Jun 13, 09:12 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin is one of several running backs vying for playing time in the team's backfield, along with RBs Dominique Brown, Bobby Rainey and Charles Sims. Martin has shed some body fat and re-gained weight in muscle. He is excited about the competition and feels good. Competition out here helps us all, Martin said. If you don't have anybody that's pushing you then who's going to make you better?

Fantasy Impact: Martin might be the favorite to start right now but nothing is certain with him.
Jun 12, 04:32 PM New England Patriots TE Tim Wright was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday, June 12.

Fantasy Impact: He'll serve some sort of backup role with the Bucs and has a lot less fantasy value with his new team.
Jun 11, 10:02 AM New England Patriots TE Tim Wright was released Thursday, June 11.
Jun 08, 05:02 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston and WRs Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans are becoming acclimated to offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter's offense. The three players said they've become more comfortable with the offense and now need to learn more of the terminology that comes with it.

Jun 08, 09:22 AM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson is lining up in multiple spots in offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter's offense. 'Dirk is having some fun moving me around and playing me in multiple places, and it's been fun for me, too,'' Jackson said. 'It's fun to play inside (in the slot) and outside, to be able stretch the field and cross the field. 'That's what's good about this system. We're going to put the ball all over the place. The (running) backs, the tight ends, everybody's going to be involved and that should make it fun for all of us.'
Jun 05, 03:32 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Charles Sims has added some muscle during the offseason, which could help him be a better runner between the tackles.
Jun 05, 01:02 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin is leaner and appears faster than ever this offseason with acceleration that hasn't been seen since his rookie season, according to PewterReport.com's Scott Reynolds. 'I'm trying to get my body fat percentage down,' Martin said. 'I am a little smaller in terms of my body fat percentage that's decreased, so that's good. I'm just trying to get my muscle gain up and get that fat out. Definitely I feel quicker - faster. I feel real good. 'I wanted to be a little faster and a little quicker in my game and for me to be able to do that was to decrease my body fat, go hard in the weight room and come out here on the field and show the coaches. It's really more running and cardio. When I'm at home I'll go run around the neighborhood from time to time, a lot of cardio and keeping up on the weights.'

Fantasy Impact: Martin is making a case to remain the starter in Tampa but nothing is 100 percent certain with this situation.
Jun 04, 10:02 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK Brandon Bogotay handled all the kicking duties during the OTA session Thursday, June 4, as PK Patrick Murray received a scheduled day off.
Jun 02, 09:53 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (hamstring) returned to practice Tuesday, June 2, at organized team activities (OTAs) after a "tweak" to his hamstring during drills Thursday, May 28.
Jun 02, 08:03 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin said he feels great, his body feels good and his mind is where it needs to be as he participates in organized team activities. Martin has supposedly looked like his old self so far, making sharp cuts and catching the ball out of the backfield in one-on-one drills.

Fantasy Impact: We aren't totally buying in on Martin for this season but things are looking better for him right now.
