2015 DRAFT GUIDE
Team Grade:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

Outlook

The Bucs are an intriguing team this year. The offense is getting better and better, but much will depend on the development of quarterback Jameis Winston. If the rookie can play pretty mistake-free football, the Bucs could surprise and land a playoff spot. The defense is making strides and the offense has two of the best receivers in the game. Tampa is a team on the rise. A season around .500 seems likely but donā??t be surprised if the Bucs are a little better than that if Winston has a solid rookie season.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
He didnā??t have quite the rookie season as expected but tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins should be a bigger part of the offense from day one. He is a talented pass catcher that could have more room to run this year with Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans attracting much of the coverage on the outside. Plus, rookie quarterbacks tend to make the easy pass if given the chance, which could lead to more targets for Seferian-Jenkings. He can take his game to a new level this year and become a low-end No. 1 for fantasy teams.
FANTASY DUD
Running back Doug Martin might be atop the depth chart right now but donā??t expect that to last for long. He has been given plenty of chances the last few seasons but done little with them. It is only a matter of time before the Bucs move on from Martin. Expect Charles Sims to take over the starting duties for the Bucs before the season is out. He is the younger back with more potential going forward.

Team Notes

Jul 27, 04:52 PM Free-agent DE Da'Quan Bowers (Buccaneers) signed an undisclosed deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday, July 27.
Jul 27, 12:02 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin could be in line for a big, bounce-back year, in the opinion of beat writer Roy Cummings.

Fantasy Impact: We aren't sold on Martin just yet but things seemed lined up for him to do better this year if he can stay healthy.
Jul 13, 06:23 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins' health will be key to the success of the team's offense this season. If Seferian-Jenkins can stay healthy he'll be heavily utilized in offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter's system.
Jul 13, 08:53 AM Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins was virtually uncoverable in organized team activities and minicamps.
Jul 11, 10:13 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins could benefit from offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, who has a solid history with tight ends. In 2010, Koetter coached Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis in a career-best season with 700 yards and 10 touchdowns. Koetter also coached former TE Tony Gonzalez's 2012 and 2013 campaigns with the Atlanta Falcons during which he piled up over 1,700 yards and 16 touchdowns over the two seasons.
Jul 09, 07:43 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins may be primed for a breakout year in his second season in the NFL, according to Scott Smith of buccaneers.com. Smith cites good health -- something ASJ didn't have last year -- and athleticism as the main components of Seferian-Jenkins' possible breakout season.
Jun 29, 10:02 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is expected to play more on an island in 2015 as the 'X' receiver in Tampa Bay's new offense, which is the same role offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter created for Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones during Koetter's time with that organization. He said Monday, June 29, that the QB carousell of Josh McCown and Mike Glennon last year held him back, too, so he is excited about a potential breakout with QB Jameis Winston.
Jun 23, 05:53 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans said he worked out with former NFL WR Randy Moss for a week this offseason.
Jun 21, 02:42 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson could line up in the slot at times this season.
Jun 20, 03:02 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins could be used more this year in new offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter's system. ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas believes Seferian-Jenkins will be a big part of the offense in 2015.
Jun 16, 09:03 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans said he's being used exclusively as an 'X' wide receiver. Evans was used as the 'Z' receiver as a rookie, but he said he likes the move and 'being on an island.'
Jun 13, 09:12 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin is one of several running backs vying for playing time in the team's backfield, along with RBs Dominique Brown, Bobby Rainey and Charles Sims. Martin has shed some body fat and re-gained weight in muscle. He is excited about the competition and feels good. Competition out here helps us all, Martin said. If you don't have anybody that's pushing you then who's going to make you better?

Fantasy Impact: Martin might be the favorite to start right now but nothing is certain with him.
Jun 12, 04:32 PM New England Patriots TE Tim Wright was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday, June 12.

Fantasy Impact: He'll serve some sort of backup role with the Bucs and has a lot less fantasy value with his new team.
Jun 11, 10:02 AM New England Patriots TE Tim Wright was released Thursday, June 11.
Jun 08, 05:02 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston and WRs Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans are becoming acclimated to offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter's offense. The three players said they've become more comfortable with the offense and now need to learn more of the terminology that comes with it.
