2016 DRAFT GUIDE
Team Grade:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

Outlook

The Bucs are a team on the rise. The team departed with coach Lovie Smith during the offseason, which was a surprise, but expectations are high with this talented team right now. Tampa expects to take another step forward this year. They probably aren't a playoff team just yet but just outside that group, finishing around .500. The defense still has some concerns, especially in the secondary.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Quarterback Jameis Winston showed a lot his rookie season, scoring 28 total touchdowns while getting picked off 15 times. He completed just 58 percent of his passes, though, and averaged 7.56 yards per attempt. He can improve in both those areas his second year, taking his game to a new level. He is the real deal at quarterback for the Bucs. He is going to be the focal point of the offense for years to come and can move into that next level of fantasy quarterbacks.
FANTASY DUD
Receiver Vincent Jackson produced when he was playing last year but missed about half the season because of injury. He is another year older this year and has just five touchdowns the last two seasons. He will have some big games along the way but don't expect similar production from earlier in his career when he was a top fantasy receiver. Jackson is going to be hit and miss on a weekly basis at this stage of his career.

Team Notes

Jun 22, 02:13 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Charles Sims is expected to see more carries in 2016, in the opinion of PewterReport.com's Mark Cook.

Fantasy Impact: Sims has some real value for fantasy teams, especially since he is going to get a lot of work in the passing game.
Jun 17, 12:43 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate emerged as a favorite target of QB Jameis Winston last year, and head coach Dirk Koetter has been impressed with the tight end in the red zone this offseason. Brate caught 23 passes for 288 yards last year and scored three touchdowns when TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins was injured. Brate will battle with Seferian-Jenkins for a starting position in training camp.

Fantasy Impact: Don't discount Brate to earn the starting job this year. Seferian-Jenkins is in the dog house for the Bucs right now.
Jun 10, 09:23 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Kenny Bell has looked healthy and sharp in OTAs, but beat writer Greg Auman believes Bell still isn't a lock to make the final roster.
Jun 09, 01:13 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins was dismissed from practice by head coach Dirk Koetter Thursday, June 9.

Fantasy Impact: Not good. At this point, he isn't even guaranteed a starting spot. He is just trying to earn some playing time. He better turn it around in a hurry.
Jun 07, 02:13 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK Roberto Aguayo, the team's second-round pick, signed his four-year contract Tuesday, June 7. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Jun 05, 11:43 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Storm Johnson said he isn't taking his opportunity with the Buccaneers lightly, and he said being cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars has only fueled his fire for the game.
May 29, 03:13 PM Tamp Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans and QB Jameis Winston have worked through countless routes together and have spent time with each other both on and off the field this offseason. Evans has been invited by Winston several times to break down film. Evans said he hasn't yet seen a work ethic like Winston's.

May 26, 07:13 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie S Ryan Smith's (undisclosed) injury is not serious and he should return to action soon, according to head coach Dirk Koetter.
May 24, 04:03 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Kenny Bell gives the Buccaneers a big-play threat who can stretch the field, according to QB Jameis Winston. Winston expects big things from Bell in 2016.
May 21, 03:23 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Luke Stocker is considered an invaluable part of the Buccaneers' offense, according to tight ends coach Jon Embree. 'He's a great pass protector, he's a good run blocker and he can be a threat in the passing game,' Embree said. 'He knows what everyone is supposed to do. There were a lot of times last year where he made things right. Maybe a play wasn't called right, or a formation, but he knew what was supposed to be done and he got it done.'
May 20, 06:33 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston can improve on his technique and accuracy because he completed only 58.3% of his passes in 2015, according to quarterback coach Mike Bajakian. 'Now we're at a point where he's proficient enough in the offense where we can focus on the details of his technique, from his footwork to his release to accuracy, moving in the pocket, all those little details of playing the position are now a matter of attention for us,' Bajakian said.
May 20, 06:23 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken said he was not a big fan of QB Jameis Winston when he entered the NFL, but his opinion has changed after working with him this offseason. Monken said the passing game needs to improve under Winston because it was inconsistent in 2015. 'I think from the outside you would've looked at it with all the things that were publicized in the past about him and who he is. I was dead wrong. He wants to win as much as we do. He's a competitive joker, man, he's smart, he's intelligent ... you can win a lot of games with guys like that,' Monken said.
May 12, 02:43 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Kenny Bell is a player the team hopes can serve as their speed receiver. Bell ran a 4.37-second 40-yard dash but missed all last season with a hamstring injury.
May 12, 01:23 PM Tampa Bay Buccaneers DE/LB Noah Spence signed his rookie contract Thursday, May 12.
