2016 DRAFT GUIDE
Team Grade:
Tennessee Titans
Quarterbacks: Running Backs:
Wide Receivers: Tight Ends:
Defense: Kickers:

Outlook

The Titans won just three games last year but were in most of them. This is a team close to taking a big step forward. The offense is looking very good for the coming year with two talented running backs in the mix and Marcus Mariota playing in year two at quarterback. Mariota should be more consistent this year, which will be a positive for the entire offense. The defense has some pretty good pieces in place but could struggle against the run at times, which is a concern. The Titans will be better than last year but probably are still a year or two away from a trip to the playoffs.
FANTASY BREAKOUT
Receiver Dorial Green-Beckham showed flashes of his ability his rookie season, having 100-yard games two of his last five. He also scored four touchdowns on 32 receptions. He is a big-time athlete that can make plays all over the field. He should be better in year two and seems ready to take a step forward in this emerging offense. Green-Beckham has huge red-zone potential because of his size and strength, making him a guy that could reach double-digit touchdowns this season. He is going to have plenty of big games along the way this season.
FANTASY DUD
It was looking pretty good for DeMarco Murray to rebound this season before the NFL draft. But the Titans used a pick on Derrick Henry, who is going to push Murray for playing time. He is going to at least split work with Murray and could eventually overtake him for the starting job at some point this season. Murray will be productive in this emerging offense but his potential for the coming year went down in a big way with Henry around to take touches from him.

Team Notes

Jun 24, 12:03 AM Tennessee Titans RB Antonio Andrews has responded well to the added competition of RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry, head coach Mike Mularkey said.
Jun 22, 07:43 PM Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray believes Tennessee's offensive system is a better fit for him than the Philadelphia Eagles' offense. 'It's strictly downhill and that's what I've been accustomed to my entire life,' Murray said. 'Nothing against last year or what happened, it just didn't work out, but I'm very excited about this upcoming season.'
Jun 16, 02:23 PM Tennessee Titans WR Tajae Sharpe has impressed head coach Mike Mularkey, and Sharpe is expected to begin training camp as a starting wide receiver.
Jun 16, 02:03 PM Tennessee Titans WR Dorial Green-Beckham remains somewhat of a project at the NFL level after he was thrown out of Missouri in college and went to Oklahoma but didn't play in 2014. Wide receivers coach Bob Bratkowski thinks the time off hurt Green-Beckham's game and caused him to develop at a slower pace. Green-Beckham was picked by the former Titans regime under general manager Ruston Webster, and new general manager Jon Robinson has said before that he's not particularly interested in projects. For now, Bratkowski said things are trending in the right direction for Green-Beckham.
Jun 15, 10:43 AM Tennessee Titans WR Tajae Sharpe has passed WR Dorial Green-Beckham and WR Justin Hunter on the depth chart as Sharpe worked with the first-team in practice Tuesday, June 14.

Fantasy Impact: We wouldn't count on Sharpe keeping the starting job but keep an eye on the situation going forward. Sharpe could surprise.
Jun 14, 01:13 PM Tennessee Titans RB Dexter McCluster thinks he'll have plenty of opportunities to make noise in the backfield even with RBs DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry ahead of him. 'I think it will open up a lot more opportunities for me,' said the 5-8, 170-pound McCluster. 'When you have some big guys that are going to run downhill, that can cause more confusion to a lot of people. I hope (defenses) forget all about me and I can get open.' McCluster has a versatile skill set and can also help on special teams returning punts.
Jun 10, 09:43 PM Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker said the locker room is tired of losing, and the team is buying into head coach Mike Mularkey's system and starting to understand his offense.
Jun 10, 04:43 PM Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota appears to have a better grasp of the offense and has been a true leader during offseason workouts, according to DT Jurrell Casey.
Jun 10, 03:43 PM Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie said the amount of carries RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry receive each game may be determined by how they are playing that game. 'I believe in just doing whatever we have to do, whatever is necessary to win the game,' Robiskie said. 'Obviously we'll have it situated going into the game, and figuring, 'Hey, we want to go this way or go that way.' If we get to going in the game and some guy gets the hot hand and that's what it takes to win the game then that is what we are going to do.'

Fantasy Impact: This is really looking like a timeshare, which is very scary to fantasy owners.
Jun 10, 03:03 PM Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry has impressed the team with his hands as a receiver, which head coach Mike Mularkey said makes Henry even more dangerous.
Jun 07, 06:33 PM Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie said he has been impressed with that he has seen from QB Marcus Mariota on tape and during practice. Robiskie said Mariota has done a good job learning the offense that the coaching staff is installing.
Jun 07, 06:13 PM Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright will not be allowed to freelance during plays like he may have been allowed to do in the past, according to offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie. Robiskie said he will expect Wright to be where he needs to be during every play. The offensive coordinator said Wright has performed well during offseason workouts.
Jun 05, 01:53 PM Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota is expected to improve his pocket awareness in 2016. Mariota was sacked 38 times in his rookie season -- the most of any quarterback who played in 12 or fewer games. 'I've really emphasized getting rid of the ball instead of taking sacks,' head coach Mike Mularkey said. Mariota has been told an incompletion is OK, and to throw the ball away and move on to the next down. Mariota's knowledge of the offense is also expected to be improved. Mularkey has streamlined the offense for more simplicity.
