Quarterback Rank: #39 Overall: #222
Simms is still looking to rebound from his ruptured spleen suffered at the end of '06. He had a cup of coffee with the Titans last season, but had just two pass attempts serving as their No. 3 most of the year. Simms has all the tools (size, arm strength, speed) to be a solid NFL quarterback, but needs to put it together. In the past, he has been turnover prone and lacked the ability to complete passes downfield. Simms is likely to be the No. 2 quarterback in Denver this season, but could get some chances to start with Kyle Orton ahead of him on the depth chart.

Simms might be worth a late-round pick if you have the roster space. Orton isn't guaranteed to start and Simms is next in line. The Broncos should have a very good passing game, which is a positive for whoever is starting. |

| John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports he does not buy the idea that Denver Broncos QB Chris Simms is making a serious run for the team's starting quarterback job. The job likely remains QB Kyle Orton's to lose. If Orton loses his job to the left-handed Simms, the move would devalue the 2008 growth of the offensive line. OT Ryan Clady established himself as one of the league's best young left tackles last season. If Simms wins the job, Clady would either have to switch positions to protect Simms' blindside or be a less valuable blocker at left tackle. |

| Jim Armstrong, of The Denver Post, reports although Denver Broncos QB Chris Simms has been working extensively with the first-team offense during the team's passing camp, both he and QB Kyle Orton figure to get long looks into the preseason before any decision is made about the starter. 'Same thing,' McDaniels said when asked if there were any new developments at the position. 'Both of them will take reps with the 1s, and we're going to keep doing that until it becomes clear and apparent, and it's not yet. They're both doing some good things, and they're both making some mistakes.' |
