Tight End Rank: #32 Overall: #230
Shiancoe had a similar season to his last two in Minnesota last year, but the big difference was his touchdown total. He scored just two times after scoring 18 touchdowns the previous two seasons. He still produced solid reception and yardage totals, though, catching 47 passes for 530 yards. Shiancoe has at least 40 receptions for 530 yards each of the last three seasons. He is a consistent option in the Vikings' passing game, but the addition of rookie Kyle Rudolph will cut into his playing time at tight end. Shiancoe is a big target with pretty good speed and decent hands. He also is a solid blocker, which is a plus for the Vikings running game. Shiancoe had a down touchdown season last year, but as mentioned, he has been a top red-zone target past years for the offense.

The Vikings' passing game is a concern and the arrival of Rudolph, making Shiancoe more of a risk this coming season. A rebound in touchdowns seems likely but don't expect huge totals in other areas. At this point, he is a No. 2 fantasy tight end. He'll get 30-plus receptions for 400 yards and six or so touchdowns. His value is a tad lower in PPR leagues. |
