After getting little work his first year in Minnesota, Shiancoe had a career year last season, getting much more involved in the offense. He was probably the most consistent receiving option for the Vikings. Shiancoe had career highs in receptions, yards and touchdowns. He also averaged an impressive 14.2 yards per reception. Shiancoe is a huge target with pretty good speed and decent hands. He also is a solid blocker, which is a plus for the Vikings explosive running game.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
He'll probably have a hard time matching last year, but can come close, making him a low-end No. 1 tight end or solid spot starter for fantasy teams.

Judd Zulgad and Chip Scoggins, of The Star Tribune, report Minnesota Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe (leg) doesn't appear 100 percent. He suffered a minor leg injury early in training camp, but he refuses to sit out. Head coach Brad Childress said Shiancoe is dealing with a little aggravation and little nicks right now, but will not take time off of practice.

The Associated Press reports Minnesota Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe caught seven passes for 136 yards with two touchdowns during the team's Week 16 game.
Fantasy Impact: Shiancoe is having a breakout year at tight end. He is a legit No. 1 option for fantasy teams.

Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings have signed free agent TE Visanthe Shiancoe (Giants). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Fantasy Impact: He should be their starter and provide an upgrade as a blocker. He catches the ball alright, but isn't anything special.
