SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #47
Overall: #260

McCown has done well when given the chance, but still hasn't proven he is ready to start in the NFL. McCown's biggest knock had been accuracy and decision making, but he has made strides the last few seasons, proving he might be NFL starter material some day. McCown is a big kid with a plus arm. He likes to push the ball downfield. McCown should serve as the Jags top backup this season, getting traded to Jacksonville just before the season started.

Charlie Campbell, of PewterReport.com, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Luke McCown said he expected the selection of QB Josh Freeman in the first round and is looking forward to compete for the starting job. 'I kind of expected it. They are putting together a group of guys that they want to compete, and that's the way that they feel they are going to go about doing it, so the competition is welcome in my eyes. I have a great opportunity. I'm going to take the bull by the horns. I feel like I showed a lot in the early mini-camp. I'm going to keep it up, and keep competing. Like I said it doesn't matter to me who they bring in. I'm going to do my best to make sure that person doesn't get to play. It has been a long time coming and I'm going to make sure that I do everything I can to make sure I'm the one playing,' McCown said.
