SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #84
Overall: #501

Collins didn't attempt a pass last season, serving as the Redskins top backulp. He has 20 starts in 13 seasons, so he won't be a full-time starter any time soon. But Collins can be a top NFL backup. He isn't flashy, but an accurate passer with smarts.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
He hasn't had extensive playing time in a few years, so the chances of him getting much work this year seem slim. Collins can do alright in spot duty, though.
Barry Svrluga and Jason Reid, of The Washington Post, report Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn said he is unsure which quarterback will start against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7. QB Jason Campbell was replaced by backup QB Todd Collins Sunday, Oct. 18. 'Right now, I'm going to just evaluate what I'm going on,' Zorn said. 'I still have confidence in what Jason can do.'
Fantasy Impact: Don't bother with either option on your fantasy team. It makes more sense to use Campbell since Collins isn't a spring chicken, but nothing is certain.

Ryan O'Halloran, of The Washington Times, reports the Washington Redskins are likely to add a third quarterback because they need one to run the practice squad in practice. They currently have just QBs Jason Campbell and Todd Collins on roster.

Clark Judge, of CBSSports.com, reports Washington Redskins QB Todd Collins is the team's backup quarterback and has virtually no chance of taking the starting duties away from QB Jason Campbell. Head coach Jim Zorn said that Collins will remain the backup even if he outplays Campbell during training camp and the preseason.

Jason Reid and Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins QB Todd Collins will earn base salaries of $1 million (2008), $2 million (2009) and $3 million (2010). The deal included a $3 million signing bonus. His salary will count $1.5 million against the salary cap for 2008.
Updating a previous report, Adam Schefter, of NFL.com, reports the Washington Redskins have re-signed unrestricted free-agent QB Todd Collins to a three-year deal worth $9 million. The deal includes a $3 million signing bonus.
Fantasy Impact: That is a lot of money for a backup. Maybe they have other ideas for Collins or they aren't sold on Jason Campbell for some reason.
