Wide Receiver Rank: #136 Overall: #441
Clayton was on his way to a career season before hurting his knee Week 5. He had 70-plus yards three of five games, including a 100-yard performance the first game of the season. He was on his way to his first 1,000-yard season before the unfortunate knee injury. Clayton suffered a torn patellar tendon in his right knee, which required surgery. He is rehabbing well, though, and should be about full strength for the start of training camp. Clayton has topped 50 receptions just once for his career and has never reached the 1,000-yard mark. He seems to finally be reaching his potential at age 29, getting an expanded role in the Rams' offense. Clayton isn't a flashy receiver, but has above-average speed and decent hands. Consistency has plagued him through the years, but last year showed he is capable of playing at a different level.

Clayton is a risk because of the injury, but he certainly has upside if all is well with him. He was on his way to a career season, playing in a much improved Rams' offense. You can't take him as anything more than a No. 3, but taking a risk on him at that point isn't a bad move. He is capable of nearing 1,000 yards and scoring seven or so touchdowns. |
