Orlovsky was probably the best Lions starter last season, but that isn't saying much. He completed 56 percent of his passes and had eight touchdowns to eight interceptions. Orlovsky also had 220-plus passing yards in five of 10 games. He moves to the Texans this season and will compete for the backup job behind Matt Schaub. Orlovsky has some positives. He is athletic, moves around the pocket well and has a plus arm. But he struggles with accuracy and decision making, and needs a lot more work to be a consistent NFL starter.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Schaub is injury prone, so Orlovsky could be worth a waiver-wire grab at some point this season if he becomes the No. 2.

Updating a previous report, Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Houston Texans have signed unrestricted free-agent QB Dan Orlovsky (Lions) to a three-year deal worth $9.15 million. The contract also included a $2.4 million signing bonus.

Fantasy Impact: Orlovsky becomes the top backup for the Texans. He is a bit of a dropoff from Sage Rosenfels, but still a decent backup for the Texans.

Fantasy Impact: Orlovsky did not play well - maybe the illness had something to do with it.
