Summary

Tight End Rank: #34
Overall: #247

Dreessen had a career year, getting some chances to start because of injury to Owen Daniels. Dreessen finished with 36 receptions for 518 yards. He displayed some big-play ability, having a 100-yard game and also finishing with an impressive average of 14.4 yards per reception for the season. Dreeseen has at least 26 receptions two straight seasons. His role will be diminished with Daniels healthy, but he'll still get a few chances in the passing game. Dreessen isn't flashy, but has pretty good hands and finds space in the secondary. He is tough to bring down with the ball in his hands.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Dreessen has some potential when starting, but he isn't likely to find the starting lineup this season. With that said, he can get 25 receptions for around 300 yards and a score or two. But if Daniels gets hurt, Dreessen is worth grabbing for a few spot starts.

Notes

The Denver Broncos signed free-agent TE Joel Dreessen (Texans) to an undisclosed deal Friday, March 23.
Fantasy Impact: He'll compete for the starting job with Jacob Tamme. Dreessen has a chance for a breakout season with Peyton Manning throwing him passes.

The Washington Redskins could show interest in Houston Texans impending free-agent TE Joel Dreessen this offseason if they do not place the franchise tag on impending free-agent TE Fred Davis.

If Houston Texans impending free-agent TE Joel Dreessen departs in the offseason, it could mean a big lift for FB James Casey. Casey, who spent most of 2011 at fullback after being converted to the position during training camp, caught 18 passes last season. Moving Casey back to his original position and pairing him with TE Owen Daniels would give the Texans two downfield threats at the position.
